I traveled with a friend, a mixed trip of business and pleasure. The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were excellent, not exactly my taste but very well designed, super clean and really comfortable. Everything worked perfectly and the bathrooms were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and responsive. We got a good price from tarvel agency for these excellent accommodations in a good location. It's on Royal, a few blocks away from the noisiest part of the Quarter. One drawback was that the parking was * a day , so it increased the cost. But the valet service was fast and competent, even if they were busy at times. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They also have a rooftop pool and a new gym, the pool is great and although the gym is small , it is mostly aerobic machines, it's better than most I've seen in hotels.

My husband and I went with our children for a last minute weekend getaway. Hotel Monteleone was in the perfect location. We parked at the hotel and walked everywhere we wanted to go. The pool was great and so was the poolside bar. The only problem we had was getting in and out of the front entrance with a stroller. There are 6 stairs just inside the front entrance which would be difficult for a handicapped person. Otherwise, everything was great! The rooms aren't big but they are beautiful and have a great view!

my wife and i stayed here aug. 14-18 2009. this is a great hotel, but i did have some problems. our room key didn't work. they never had our reservation confirmed untill we checked out. every time we went up to our room the key card would not work, i had to go back down to the front desk and talk to them every time.. no internet service, free internet that is. the omnie has free wi fi. so does krystals. i thought that a nice hotel should offer free wi fi. no coffee in the lobby. no continential breakfast. they want charge to park your car in there deck.they think there a great hotel, but it's really just a great hotell lobby. there are a lot of great hotels in the area.. just visit the loby they need to lose the high class attitude and offer more...

From non-existent customer service at the front desk to when-I-get-around-to-it housekeeping services, the Monteleone is a study in how not to run a hotel. Being in New Orleans maybe the hotel expected everyone to stay drunk and they wouldn't notice the lousy service. I checked out a day early and just ate the money I prepaid. I couldn't take another night of aggravation. On the upside, the restaurant and staff were great. I made a big mistake in staying at the Monteleone, but good for me - I can learn from my mistake and will never darken their doorway again.
