The Richmond Oceanfront is located right in the heart of the South Beach area only 2 blocks from Lincoln Road Mall. The hotel has a nice pool area and the beach is just 100 yds. from the pool. Beach chairs are not included in the hotel price. Service was very good at the hotel and the food, although pricey, was good. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Staff was unhelpful, and one woman was downright rude. We got there at 1:00, and were told room wouldn't be ready until 4:00 p.m. No problem. Then I asked if we could NOT be put in a room on the first floor which looked really noisy and the next thing you know the woman tells me we're in luck and she DOES have a room ready right now so we're like great, but then she hands us a room key for the first floor which I just said we didn't want to be on. Apparently she misheard me but she acted like I was an idiot or something, but I asked politely if she could change the room and she made us feel like we were the ones who had made the mistake. So then she puts us in a room next to an Exit door on the 3rd floor which was probably worse than if we had stayed on the 1st floor. Housekeeping used that Exit door all day long along with guests, and the door banged shut every time so it was incredibly noisy all the time. I feel like she did it just to be spiteful. Very rude. Other staff members seemed disinterested or just completely unhelpful with basic questions. Here are the major bulletpoints on the room: -Cold water was hot (yup, no cold water so showers were scalding) -walls were very thin so very noisy -no free wifi -only 1 outlet in the room available for use (1 as in one plug available) -nowhere to store clothing (no dressers or bureaus or drawers of any kind. there were a couple of Ikea type metal shelves in the closet and that was it) -shower curtain was clear so no privacy if you wanted to take a shower and allow others to use the bathroom while you were showering -carpeting was really tired and worn
