On our first trip to New Orleans, we wanted to stay in a place that was close to the action, quaint, and not "chainy." And as always, we wanted it to be affordable. The Dauphine has all of these qualities and more. At check-in, we were initially given a room near the elevator, which we thought might be noisy. I asked the front-desk clerk for a different room, with no expectation. He gave us a really quiet room that was huge, with a beautiful view on top of that. The staff was as professional, courteous, and friendly as could be. We had a fantastic time with no unpleasant surprises. We will definitely be back.

Hotel was older but what we expected for being so close to the French Quarter. Its withing walking distance of the French Quarter, pool small but served its purpose. Hotel was clean, linens fresh and bed very comfortable. The breakfast was hot,fresh and plentiful. Fruit,yogurt, bagels,waffles, etc. Staff was on hand keeping everything stocked and fresh. Only issue was AC was not effiecient and did not cool rooms, but it was also August in New Orleans. Hot, balmy and 105 for 4 days straight... Over all would return and recommend to others.

The Dauphine Orleans is located on north edge of the quarter a few blocks from Canal Street. The stafff was great and we were also given a welcome drink in the hotel bar which is very nice and friendly. Great hotel and excellent value.
