I have stayed in the Dauphine Orleans on my birthday 2 years in a row. You could not ask for a better hotel, it is beautiful! The staff is amazing and very accomodating. The hotel is centrally located in the French Quarter only one block away from Bourbon street. You can walk to just about anything. I love May Bailey's bar in the hotel, it has an old world charm. The court yard is so relaxing, we spent many a night just sitting by the pool enjoying a cocktail. I honestly could not imagine staying in a different hotel, the Dauphine has stolen my heart!

The location of this hotel was a big draw for me: it is a scant few blocks to Bourbon St., yet is on a quiet street. There are several different room arrangements, and I got one that faced the main inner courtyard. Unfortunately, the garbage dumpsters were noisily emptied there every morning at 6:00 or 7:00 AM. This was one of the few negatives to my stay, and just something to bear in mind. Also, the breakfast is a little disappointing, or was to me, but most of the other guests seem to love it. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here again.
Freindly staff!!! Super close to Bourbon St.02/08/2011

Pretty nice place. A little on the small side, but most things are in the French Quarter. Within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, bars, etc. Staff was very friendly and hospitable!!! Only complaint is that we never received a fridge. We requested one in advance and never got one after being told a few times that one was being delivered. Didn't use the pool. It seemed well kept though. The hotel also has a hottub, but it is across the street in a nice little courtyard. Continental breakfast was the usual: coffee, bagels, cereal, etc but there are plenty of restaurants nearby if that doesn't float your boat.

We really like the location in the French Quarters and the Hotel people were very courtious and helpful with streetcar and bus transportation. There was also access to a hotel provided computer and printer. The Breakfast furnished by the hotel was great fresh fruit to Belgium Waffles. We enjoy having the little bar within the hotel. The hotel made for a very pleasant trip.
