The Aston was an excellent value and really exceeded my expectations. The continental breakfast each morning was above average with fresh fruit, pastries, and an assortment of yogurts, cereal, and drinks. The bed and pillows were great (I know it sounds somewhat trivial, but a bad bed/pillows can make for a long and painful night), and our room was very clean. We had an oceanfront room, and the view from our balcony was absolutely breathtaking. The staff were always very friendly, courteous, and willing to answer questions. However, I do have two critiques, but I am really nit-picking on these. The room itself was smaller than I anticipated. Don't get me wrong, the room was fine-I just expected something a little bigger. Also, the staff should do a better job of initially explaining the elevator system. Once you check in, you're fine, as it's explained at the front desk. However, the front desk is located on the third floor, and you have to take the elevator up to that floor. Most people are accustomed to having to select the floor number once in the elevator, but this elevator system is quite different, as you select the floor number on the outside of the elevator, and it prompts you to to a particular elevator. My wife and I were thoroughly confused, and we noticed several other guests who ran into the same issue throughout our stay. All in all, The Aston was a fantastic value, and my wife will more than likely be staying there during our future trips to Hawaii!

It's been 3 yrs since we last stayed here with our children and grandchildren. The pool area requires some repairs and the breakfast assortment is more limited (esp hot entrees). But the location at the quiet end of Waikiki is still a preferred for us and the service and staff were exceptional once again... friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our view on the front side of 24th floor was a joy -- both Diamond Head and oceanside. Love the changes to the menu items at Tiki's - locale fish & produce, the chef has made some great selections - the Butterfish was tender, flaky, and flavorful. The entertainment at Tiki's bar every night provides excellent variety and is a pleasant option to the more congested venues further down the beach.

great hotel location especially if you want the beach. Jr. Suite was excellent would prefer a better view for the quality of room. no ocean fronts with jr. suties but could still see the beach. great for kids and the free breakfast was on point if your on the go. also enjoyed the morning entertainment while we ate. would def stay again!
