We liked the Waikiki Beach enough to stay there twice. It's an enormous hotel but has a friendly staff and amenities like a bountiful breakfast that's included. Would recommend an oceanfront room because the view is spectacular.

The good: The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was included and it was a nice assortment of stuff. It is a good location close to a great place on the beach for kids to swim and close to shopping and places to eat. The bad: The rooms are sparce. There was a almost non-existant balcony. Seriously, you could hardly even stand on it!! And I'm a small person! My husband and I couldn't really be on it at the same time. The bathroom was in major need of updating or one heck of a cleaning. It looked dirty. The pool is advertised as heated... it wasn't. It was an ICE CUBE!!! No one could swim in it. My two kids tried to, but they were in for about 5 min. and were shivering with purple mouths. That was disappointing, as I had two little ones who REALLY wanted to swim in the pool. Overall, no I would not return. I feel lied to. The staff was wonderful though. Very helpful and friendly, it's too bad that the hotel itself just isn't great. It has a great location, I wish they'd put a little money into updating it and actually heating the pool.

Location was great. Close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Nothing fancy, but clean and staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was exactly the same every day. We got a little tired of that. The pool area was not in the sun for sunbathing until late in the afternoon. That was disappointing. Overall, we had a good experience. We were glad we got a good deal on the room.

The Waikiki Beach was hands-down, one of the highlights of our visit to Hawaii. We have stayed at the Waikiki Beach twice, and our visits were amazing. We enjoyed an ocean-front view that literally took our breaths every single day...simply unbelievable! In addition, the staff was extremely friendly, courteous and filled with the aloha spirit! The complimentary breakfast included fresh pastries, yogurt, cereal and other goodies...but our favorite part was the live Hawaiian music each morning and the complimentary breakfast bag...perfect to enjoy breakfast on the beach. Our past two visits have been unreal, and we are looking to return for our third trip this next year. Hands-down...if you're looking for a fun, beautiful hotel with the best location in Waikiki...this is IT!!!

I really can't say enough about this hotel! This was my third trip to Waikiki and it was by far the best experience and the best hotel I have stayed in yet (my first time at the Aston Waikiki). My girlfriend and I came during the holiday season, so we were expecting things to be hectic, but to our amazement, the staff made us feel like we were the most important people in the entire hotel. We arrived before our check-in time, but we were still able to check in. When we walked into our room, we were in awe of the view of the ocean (we spent many afternoons sitting on the balcony just staring at it). The room was big and very clean--couldn't have asked for more. Aside from the amazing views and the incomparable location (across the street from the beach and within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants downtown), the staff really won us over. From the people at the front desk, to the incredibly nice and dedicated woman who cleaned our room, to the people who worked at the breakfast buffet and valeted the cars, everyone really showed us "the aloha spirit". They were so nice and would help us with anything we wanted--from directions to suggestions of fun things to do or places to eat. When we left after our ten day stay, we really felt like we were going to miss all the people we had met! Overall, I can't say enough about the Aston. The staff was incredible, the hotel was beautiful, the room was fantastic and the location couldn't be beat. Like I said, I have stayed at other hotels, but after my stay here, there is nowhere else I ever want to say when I make it back to Waikiki other than the Aston!!
