I stayed in a Junior suite for 9 days. The room was very clean and large enough for 3 of us. The free breakfast buffet was great- saved us a lot of money.The pool area was very nice. The employees were friendly.There are a few eating establishments on the premises. the best were Wolfgang Puck's and Tiki's.I would stay there again.

My wife and I visited Oahu for our anniversary. I chose this hotel based on the fact the the rest of the reviews were pretty positive, but I wasn't as impressed as most of the other reviewers. I wouldn't have described the room as especially clean, although I have stayed in worse. The room was small, but I have heard that most rooms in Hawaii are fairly small; this was our first time so I can't attest to that. In the end, the amenities and cleanliness of the Aston would be bested by most mid-price hotels in which I have stayed. The partial ocean view required you to stick your head out the sliding door to be able to see it. The elevators were too difficult for most of the other guests to operate. The location was pretty good -- right across the street from Wiakiki.

The hotel is located towards the far end of Waikiki beach towards Diamond Head which was a concern before we arrived; but there are plenty of dining options within an enjoyable 1/2 mile walk. Continental style breakfast is included, and you can upgrade for a few bucks if you want a cook to order omelet or waffle. They give you a small cooler bag (lunch size) so you can grab breakfast and take it to the beach if desire. They also make chairs and towels available to take to the beach. The downside is the size of the beds...full size; but seemed really small. In my opinion this is a great value and location for the cost. If I were to go back with just my spouse, I would probably stay at a different location; upgrading. But we traveled with our kids and would definitely stay there again if we went back with them.
