We got a great deal at the Aston Waikiki Beach hotel, but I was a little nervous about some of the reviews. The hotel is in an excellent location. It is a nice hotel and overall our experience was great! The room was small but clean and nicely decorated. The bathrooms need some work and/or some serious scrubbing. We did not have any problems with the elevators (as mentioned in many reviews) until the last day - but the staff was right on it and let us use the service elevator. Breakfast was nice - it did get old the last couple of days, but we loved the little bags and loaded up for breakfast and snacks for later. TIP - parking is about $* per day!!! We found free parking everyday a block away at the beach park. We would stay again!

The hotel was very nice, not ultra fancy but very nice. Location is half block from the beach. We actually walked from the hotel to the top of Diamondhead but it was a little long. Next time I would take a trolley up and then walk back down. The only complaint I would have is the beds were small (even seem small for a full). Pool was great too and right next to tons of shopping.

I was soo excited to visit Hawaii for the first time but the Aston hotel needs to upgrade. My tub had a dark ring around it was not cleaned when I checked in and the room was way too small. The front desk help was very friendly but the elevator system they use was a disaster. I stayed there 4 nights and 5 days and they forgot to clean my room on the 2nd night there. No internet in the room #40bummer#41.. Besides all that the food at Ala Mouna mall was great and the Trolley system Hawaii used to get around the city was totally convenient. I cant wait to go back to HAWAII...... Aloha.

We stayed there only one night in 08/09 arriving early for a cruise ship. We paid a bit extra and had a beach front balcony. The very best 20.00 I ever spent! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Right on the beach great location in very easy walking distance to shopping Dukes club Cheeseburger in Paradise the International Market and just across the street #40a very easily crossed low traffic street I must add#41 to the beach! The BOB #40breakfast on the beach#41 thing is kinda hoakie but we enjoyed it a lot! We still laugh about how much fun it was to wriggle our toes in the sand while eating. #40and trust me we are not kids!#41 The place is a bit quotolderquot than some perhaps and may show a bit of wear but you have to really look hard to see that. The staff is absolutely great! Friendly and helpful and with genuine smiles each and everytime they see you. We wandered the beach until way after midnight and I am an quotearly to bedquot kind of guy! We were up bright and early the next morning to enjoy the walk along the beach and all of the shops along the way. Five star? Nah but a clean nice place with a great staff! Oh...and the view kept me up until nearly 3:00am! Would I stay there again? In a heartbeat! DownSized in Oregon

No wifi in room& speeds that made dialup seem good. The ethernet cable is short & won't stretch to table...have to straddle the dresser to be online-not cool..Computers in lobby were fast but of course cost $ & to print boarding passes -you shell out more $..funny the lobby computers have hispeed connection..sloow speed in rooms..Elevators were a pain. Need room key to get to your floor, swipe key, enter floor #, then an elevator a-e is assigned to you. Gradeschool system!! &elevators only go down to 3rd floor. Inconvenient...walk around to find escalator to get to ground floor..Complimentary breakfast is a bit lame.. Give you bright colored bag to fetch your breakfast that you line up for-sposed to cart off food back to your room to eat. Lame.. Hidden costs for everything..that's why it seems affordable @ 1st
