The room was missed on house keeping, even after we call to request it. The non smoking room smelled of smoke. In order to move to a higher floor in the hotel at check-in the hotel wanted to charge us more for the same standard room. The staff was really nice and gave good tips on what to do in the area. But the room was not as expected.

I've been staying at the Rio for many years now - with the Steak House being one of my favorite restaurants. But after my very dissapointing experience this last weekend, I'm just going to write off the Rio as another hotel that focused too intently on the bottom line, and and forgot how to provide a quality customer experience. Here's couple of quick suggestions: Close the steak house. It's devolved into such a joke that you'd be much better off just expanding the Voodoo Night Club into a two story affair. And speaking of the Voodoo... guess I know where to go next time I need a $200 hooker. I can remember when it was the Voodoo lounge and still a nice place to spend an evening after a very good meal. Ah... memories... And your so called "suites"... hire a handy man so he can do a little regular maintenance. We had tiles falling off in our bathroom, a TV that didn't work. A ceiling fixture in the shower with gaps so large around it I actually inspected it for a hidden camera! The casino is dying a truly slow and ugly death. Just go ahead and throw a chain around the door handles and call it a day. Thanks for ruining my 1 year anniversary. I'll make a point of sharing my experience with as many friends and family as I possible can...

I've been staying at the Rio for many years now - with the Steak House being one of my favorite restarants. But after my very dissapointing experience this last weekend, I'm just going to write the Rio off as another hotel that focused too intently on the bottom line, and and forgot how to provide a quality customer experience. The room was not on the floor we asked for, nor did we have the view we asked for. Outside of this the actual room itself was amazing!! So roomy and lavish. I'd stay here again.
