Nicest rooms in Vegas for the money. All kinds of places to eat. Being off the strip it doesn't get as crowded. All the games have reasonable mins. Easy in and out if you're driving. 2nd time we've stayed there, and would do it again.

The Rio was very disappointing. It had a tired, worn-out 60's hotel feel to it. The room, while huge to the point of needing double the furniture it had, was without character or ambience, and access was an extremely long trek from the elevators - down a dismal corridor. Half of the mini-bar was unstocked, and had a layer of dust on the shelf like nuclear ash. We hated the fact that virtually everything was 'a-la-carte.' Phone calls (even local) were $1.25. WiFi was an extra $14/day. Coffee (K-cups for the Keurig coffeemaker was $8 for3 cups. There was no free USA Today. The nightclub had a $50 cover charge. And on and on ... All-in-all .... very disappointing. Nowhere near what we typically enjoy as a "four-star" facility - which it was rated. We'd say 2 stars - tops. The line for the buffet was 6 people wide, and ran out into the reception lobby. We never saw it move, and couldn't believe folks would stand in line that long for an overpriced buffet (we skipped it). How this place succeeds is beyond us. We had a wonderful experience for two different nights at a different hotel on the strip, and it actually cost us less because everything was included in the room rate. Go figure. Bottom line - we can't recommend the Rio.

This is a great Hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Everything from the room to the casino to the restaurants were great. The only draw back is that it is not on the strip, although they have a shuttle it is still a little inconvenient. We did not rent a car and if you stay here that is almost a must because cab fare will kill you if you want to see alot of Las Vegas. The only other small draw back was the in room coffee. They offered a keurig coffee maker with coffee in the wet bar at $8 for 3 cups. My wife and I enjoy coffee in the a.m. and this was kind of over the top. A regular hotel coffee maker would have been a better option with complimentary coffee.
