I have stayed at the Rio before, and I was very dissapointed this time. We had no housekeeping the first two days- had to call for it. The room smelled terrible-smoky and old. We asked for a non-smoking room, but clearly this room wasnt non-smoking. The wall paper was peeling off, and the tiles were cracked and chipped, and the caulking in the tub/shower was peeing off in large strips. This hotel needs to be updated in all rooms! I was also dissapointed that WiFi is expensive here!! No resort fee might be because there is no resort- no WiFi, no pool access, nothing really to say "resort"! I guess I thought there may be atleast a hot tub available! We did have a very nice breakfast that was a promo for booking. The buffet seemed clean.

The linens were very rough and the mattress was old and needed replacing. The toilet paper and tissue were also rough. The food was mostly disappointing although the Chinese restaurant was excellent and the seafood combo was the best I've ever had. This was our second trip to Vegas in our adult lives and we found the value at the Rio great. Buy your coffee K-Cups at the grocery store. They charge three for eight dollars in the room and one dollar each at the little hotel store.

Stayed here the last 2 years over Christmas. Loved it until this year. The first room smelled. Got a room in the other tower which was ok. But then wanted to get something to eat while watching the football game. Two restaurants closed, room service took 5 minutes to get an answer. Probably won

Everything went as smooth as possible.
12/21/2012Excellent staff, nice room with great view and we stayed four nights for the price that some hotels charge for one night, and it was over the weekend.
