I was very impressed by the welcoming staff and beautiful rooms - however, the pools were very crowded and the resort was average. The pool staff was not nearly as friendly as the hotel staff. The pool bartender refused to give my brother a cup of water - then asked him for his ID. We also were told that their "private" pool area was free for women only. The free shuttle made it a great home base for visiting the strip, and for a weekend visit, it was a good value.

I like the Rio because they have large suites and the best part is the Carnival Buffet. Taking the shuttle to the strip is no big deal as long as you know where to catch it for your return. It's time to update their rooms at least in the tower our room was located, they still had a large TV, no flat screen. It's not as elegant as some of the new hotels but it's clean and nice. I would stay again.

we like this hotel and have always have had fun there. the location is great and it's the right size. the rooms could use an update - better tv's and the internet should be free and upgraded - pretty spotty most places on the property. the hotel itself could use a fresh coat of paint. all in all we like staying here. the service was great from check in to valets, bellmen and servers. we would stay here again. they just need to bring the appearance and amenities up a notch to be on par with the other properties in the neighborhood.

Overall a great hotel. Liked the free shuttle to take you to the "strip" up until 1am. The bed was a little saggy on the outer sides other than that. Very large rooms and great service.
