From the moment we walked in the door it was a disaster. The front desk associate was rude. It has the feel of a cheap cruise ship. The all you can eat seafood buffet is horrible. Men were taking pictures of my daughter while she was sun bathing! Tacky people! I may be spoiled, we normally stay at the Wynn or the Encore and tried this hotel on a friends recommendation....but I wil gladly pay the difference to have an enjoyable vacation with a more sophisticated atmosphere.

I stayed at the Rio for 5 days, 4 nights and it was a good experience. I received a renovated room and it was overall a nice room. The bed was comfortable the view was great and everything seemed just NICE. Only complaints is that the room needed to be steam cleaned especially the upholstery on the couches and ottoman. There were some unsightly stains that could have been addressed. The shuttles to and from the strip took forever at times. I am a slot machine guy and the variety of machines that the RIO had were very limited. I believe the RIO should be a 3.5 star hotel and not be considered a 4 star hotel. I have stayed at Mandalay Bay (MB) which is also a 4 star hotel but MB was far more clean and luxiorious.

A vast hotel property with everything you need/want. A nice variety of restaurants and bars, front desk was helpful and quick whenever needed. Waiting to drop off/pick up our car from the valet was a little slow sometimes. Most rooms have a sectional sofa and the floor to ceiling windows really maximize the views of the Strip. Drinks and dancing at the outdoor rooftop bar was very cool.

The Rio was very nice- rooms were very spacious and comfortable but the lighting in the rooms (at least mine) was very poor. It was almost impossible to work at the desk because of poor lighting. There were no overhead lights in the main room. One litle table lamp on desk, but very insufficient. If you ae there for the casino and sights- very well- if you are there for meetings, yo might be a little disappointed,
