Took three tries to open door everytime to get into room. Room very small. Wait service in restaurants very slow. Price we paid for this resort was not worth it. Would stay at Hard Rock Hotel next time. The rooms were very noisy.

You have to pay ten dollars a day for Internet service in the room (if you can get through the sign-in page, which I couldn't) and the free Internet service in the lobby is ridiculously slow. The bed pillows were lumpy and the bath towels scratchy. You can hear everything going on in the hallway. The best part of our stay was that you got free Express Passes to the parks and you could walk to the parks.

Too keep this short, here is the good: 1) can walk to the Universal Studios parks 2) get free Express Passes for rides at the parks 3) there is a shuttle from the airport 4) the staff is friendly and helpful The bad: 1) free internet ONLY in the lobby and it is SLOW (ten dollars/day to have it in your room) 2) you have to pay $17/day to park 3) mildew in the shower 4) lumpy bed pillows 5) smoking area is along the sidewalk to the parking lot and the sidewalk to the park as well as the beautiful courtyard (not a problem if you are a smoker, but if you have asthma or allergies, is a big problem) 6) you can hear everything going on in the hallway (or across the hall if their door is ajar) 7) there is no free breakfast, and the expensive breakfast buffet was only slightly better than the free breakfast I usually get at a Marriott hotel Also, the "beach" is a section of sand between the pool and the water taxi waterway. Not as nice or large as the picture would have you believe. There is no microwave in the room. The only fridge in the room is the minibar fridge, which is 95% full of their overpriced drinks. The hotel is pet friendly, which is a problem if you have allergies to pets.

If you can get a good discounted rate, this is a good hotel on property if you want the perk of universal express. BE sure to check your room thoroughly when you check in and report any problems right away. We found some "cleanliness" issues on day 4 that were disturbing but that the hotel rectified as quickly as they could when we notified them. The staff is very attentive and will work to resolve your problems. For the regular rate, I would suggest paying slightly more for the hard rock but this is a good hotel if you can find a discounted rate.

I liked the hotel. It was just like any other except I had to pay $17 a day to park my car there during my stay. Internet was extra, no mini fridge in the room unless you paid a $350 deposit for the key to open it. Restaraunt food was pretty good but very pricey. The big draw for me was the 1 hour early admission to Harry Poter and the express pass for the lines but we only got up early enough 1 day to be there early and the express pass can be bought at the park or ahead of time for just a little more than what I paid. That can be saved by finding a nice off site hotel with free parking, free internet access and a mini fridge, oh and maybe even a continental breakfast! That also was not free! I can say the staff was excellent and it was nice having a shuttle to and from the park but, again, nice cheaper hotels in the area offer that also. Save your money and stay in a nice hotel off site. Don't get sucked (more like suckered) into the money pit like I did.
