I couldn't have had a better time at the Royal Solaris. The food was amazing, service was constant. The drinks were great, the multiple pools were awesome, and the beach had almost no one on it. The hotel is far away from most others, which was fine for me! It's all inclusive, why bother leaving to spend money elsewhere? Our balcony had a nice little secluded hot tub facing the beach. It wasn't extravagant but I certainly enjoyed having it. I would most certainly recommend a friend and I would love to stay there again.

I have stayed here numerous times over the last 6 years. You definetly still are getting value for your money, although many things have been cut back (due to lack of tourists I believe) such as the food selection. The workers at this hotel are very friendly faces to me and am glad to still see them working. I would recommend the Royal Solaris to anyone who is interested in a beautiful beach and pool area.

  • I don't go on vacation to be stuck indoors after dark!!

Hotel grounds were not beautiful the way you would expect. Pool was ok and beach was super washed away. We had to slide down a sand wall about 8 feet to get to the water. Absolutely no service near the beach. If you want drinks you have to keep getting up and walking way up to the pool bar. Room felt really old and ran down. Food was your typical all inclusive type stuff. We were very disappointed with how early the bars and restaurants closed. We are from Missouri and wanted to be outside enjoying the beautiful weather until we headed to our rooms for sleep. But the only place to get a drink after dark was the lobby and it's all enclosed and air conditioned! We sat there some and listened to music but finally just ordered drinks and went outside anyway. Very disappointed with pretty much everything.

We stayed at the Royal Solaris on our honeymoon. Everything about the hotel was nice, but I guess I wanted to be more wowed! The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly. I never had an empty glass during cocktail hour! Three was live entertainment in the bar, but not every night-it was okay. There were some out side activities at the pool, but we never made it to paddle boats or wind surfing. You didn't really know where you were going. You would have to cross a busy highway to get where you needed to go and the area wasn't cleared out, full of trees, so you would know where you were going. One side faced the bay and the other the lagoon, not as pretty of a view. The beach had several large rocks on the water line, so you were limited to where you could swim. The food was okay. Their version of American food was off, a lot. If you aren't acustomed to REAL Mexican food (nothing like Taco Bell), you may be let down. Breakfasts were the best-traditional American food. We wanted to check our flight status and had to pay to use the internet. It was, I think $5.00 for 15 minutes. They had people in the hotel to help plan excursions. That was nice. I think we got a good deal. Better than pre-buying online. The spa was really nice! We had a couples massage and it was very refreshing. That was the best part of the whole stay. On a not so good note-there were people trying to sell time shares in the hotel. A large group of them! It was a bit overwhelming, day after day. Be sure to get airport shuttle service before getting to the airport. There are scams. They people are all dressed up and are nice, but they are also trying to get you in a time share.-beware! Overall the stay was average. I would have liked to have more fun, but it wasn't all bad. Just remember you're just sleeping there, there's lots to do else where.

THE STAFF WAS VERY KNOWELEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL, IF THEY COULD NOT ANSWER OUR QUESTIONS, THEY WOULD EVENTUALY GET OUR ANSWER. EVERY THING WAS GREAT AND WE EXPECT TO GO BACK AGAIN.
