I walked into this beautiful hotel with shorts, sandals and t-shirt -- so was this why I was given a key to probably the worst room in the hotel? It was extremely dark and dreary, plus there was construction going on outside the window so the noise was loud and unbearable. I immediately went downstairs and insisted on another room as there is no way I could spend even 5 minutes in that room. After a little huffing and puffing by the staff, I was offered another room and it was the same price. A completely different room! This one was gorgeous, light, modern, perfect! And from that point on, I was treated extremely nice and respectful. I did have to call to have the hot water turned on in the morning so I could take a shower, again, they responded quickly. Overall, I would stay there again, as it's location is perfect, the hotel is beautiful, and has a great pool area, but I really did not appreciate them trying to 'pull a quick one' by handing me keys to such a horrid noisy room in the hopes I wouldn't say anything. It wasn't right and I didn't appreciate it. Lesson to others - be assertive!

Top notch service. Great and friendly staff. Near by all attractions and a few minutes walk to the Metro. Even though we had a view of the parking lot in the back, it did not bother us at all since we spent majority of the day outside sightseeing. I recommend this Hotel with flying colors.

This is a large hotel on a very busy street. Double windows block out all noise. My room was small but absolutely quiet. It was spotless. Everyone I had contact with was friendly and always helpful. The people at the front desk aided me with directions and with places to visit. English is spoken without an accent. The rooftop dining room ,which offered drinks and the food of Spain, had a marvelous view of the city at night. (There is a hot tub adjacent.) Breakfast was more than a feast, from juice and fruit of all kinds, to newly baked breads and rolls, to ham, cheese and eggs (and more), and tasty deserts. The only thing missing in tihis hotel is a comfortable chair in the bedroom. The TV has a modern large flat screen. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The only problem was a half glass screen next to the shower which is connected with the tub. That caused a wet floor in the area. Getting around from this hotel is easy, e.g., walking down to the harbor with its seafood restaurants and on the Rambla the next street over. Other sights you can find from this central part of the city are by the modern quiet trains of the Metro with easy to follow signs and the minutes to the next train. NYC should take note. E.g.,The Metro and ifs funicular will take you up a mountain to the Miro Art Gallery, a lush park and a wonderful view of all the city. Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain. It has very busy streets but quiet places are easy to find.
