Extremely convenient for me and my kids - Aquarium and IMAX across the street and the Children's Museum at the corner. Several restaurants within a block. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable and thankfully the AC worked great! Although we didn't have much interaction with staff ( only stayed one night), everyone we encountered was very friendly and courteous . The indoor pool isn't much to speak of but it was clean and the kids had a blast Would definitely stay here again

  • Noisy bar next door

My wife and I stayed two nights over a weekend. The first night was Saturday night. Our room overlooked the rooftop bar of a Mexican restaurant that was next door. The bar was so loud. There was a huge crowd, and they blasted music very loud on their balcony. My wife and I were unable to sleep. I turned on the TV to provide some white noise, in an attempt to drown out the noise from the bar. The bar noise was so loud it could be heard over the TV. Around 11:30pm, I called the front desk to ask them about the noise. They said the bar was open until 2am. Still unable to sleep, I called the front desk back around 12am, and asked if we could be moved to another room, away from the bar. They said the hotel was booked, and we could not change rooms. This is not a place you would want to stay, if you have kids. Be prepared to stay up into the early hours of the morning, if you stay at this hotel over a weekend. For the price of this hotel, a good night's sleep would have been nice. The staff was nice, but they acted like they had no idea about the massive amount of noise that goes on every weekend right next to an entire half of their hotel. I seriously doubt nobody has ever complained about it. My wife was pregnant, and really needed her sleep.

Location is worth the cost. We traveled with a 3 and 7 year old. Minor league park, water fountains, dinner cruise, aquarium, children's museum, places to eat and no trinket shops! Our boys loved the free electric shuttle that runs from the Choo Choo to this hotel with all kinds of stops for tired little ones to jump on. Hotel was safe, clean and has indoor pool that is basic. Breakfast buffet costs $ and there are no chain restaurants in sight. Our king room had a pull out sofa bed and was tight, but we were only in the room to get cool. Room is close enough to run back for snacks and naps.

Our family stayed here for 4 nights over the 4th of July and we had excellent rooms. The staff was friendly and accomidating at all times. Our view was beautiful, facing the aquarium and Tennessee River, we watched the fireworks right from our room, and since it was a corner room, we got a great view of the baseball stadium fireworks also. The free shuttle is right outside, so access to all of downtown is easy and free.
You would have never guessed that renovations were taking place while we were there, because it was so quiet. The pool area was neat and clean. Restauant was nice and clean and breakfast service was very good. It's not a free breakfast, but was worth the cost. We truely enjoyed our stay and the entire staff.
