To start wtih, I was not enthusiastic, learned that the hotel is at a marina. I have stayed in similar locations in FL and I was not impressed. But what a nice surprise! Not only the presence of the marina is not oppressive, like in FL, but it is completely opposite. It adds a unique charm with tranquility. These are not BIG cruise ships like in FL. These are beautiful little sail boats! It provides a picturesque view from my window, and beach park and ocean beyond...The hotel is at the beginning of Waikiki beach which takes2 minutes to walk to if you prefer the loud crowd. But we don't care for stupit Walkiki beach and the drunks. We had dinner at Chart House next door, a superb seafood place on the water. For the other night, we had sushi buffet at the inhouse Japanese restaraunt Hokone. That was the most authentic and best shushi I ever had.

When I booked this hotel, I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was. I had a magnificent view with spectacular sunsets. There is not a bad view from any room in this hotel. The hotel was also right next to Ala Moana Park, which gave me great options for jogging and walks. As the Ala Moana Mall is also right by the park, I was able to shop and have some great meals without even using my car. The staff was very courteous and helpful.

This is our last hotel after our island hopping trip before departing home. I have been Hawaii before so have a rough idea what I'm looking for. Reason I chose it was for its price and its proximity to the airport. Our 1st hotel upon arrival before our island hopping trip was Hyatt Regency Waikiki. There were some disappointment there and I will write that in a separate review. But what a surprised when I check into Hawaii Prince. I did not chose this hotel as our 1st entry hotel because I read review that its location a bit off the center of action. The small inconvenient is well compensated for the quality of this stayed. If you have a car and Waikiki beach front is not your main priority of activity then this is definitely the top choice especially for its price. Let me go into the detail. Upon arrival, the car parking was very convenient, it is just the next block and is join directly to the lobby. For foreigner driving in foreign land, easy parking is a big factor unless you want to keep throwing money away with valet and tips. Beside the parking is only $15 per day! Is a steal in Waikiki. The Receptionist was relatively friendly, for some unknown reason, friendly receptionist seems rare in this State of Hawaii so I can't said it was top notch vs. many Asian hotel. At least she make an effort to give my high floor without even me asking. Compared to the experience I had with Hyatt Regency, this place was a big improvement. The biggest beauty of this hotel is that all the rooms are sea facing. So you get a stunning view without the need to pay for it. Room with a view in Hawaii cost a huge premium especially sea facing view. If you don't pay for it you can be sure you will face some backyard or garage that can really dampen you stay. At Hyatt though I pay for mountain view all I get was a glimpse of the mountain top and most of the view was the garage in the next building. The room itself is big, clean and comes with nice modern design. It looks relatively new vs. Hyatt Regency which is really old and worn out. For women who are particular about bath room, this is definitely the best bath room of all the hotels I stayed in Hawaii. The room is comparable to lots of 5 stars hotel I have stayed all over the world and I do stayed in many top notch hotel from my business trip. Last and not least, it came with 2 proper queen size bed while most hotels give only double bed. This is relatively important to us as there were 3 of us in the family. To have more space to sleep on our last night was a great relieve. As for the inconvenient of not being at Waikiki main activity area, it was easily settled with a shuttle bus that depart every 30 mins till 1030 pm where most shops is close anyway. So it does become a issue if you are young and wants to party late into the night. On hindsight, the Hyatt Regency was a complete waste of money to pay a premium over its location. This will be my number one choice if I ever come back here again. In summary, easy and cheap parking, fantastic sea view, 5 stars quality room, 2 queen size bed and super value for money compared to others along the main strip of Waikiki beach.

We chose this hotel on our recent trip to Honolulu mainly because of the great 3rd night free offer. I was worried because no other hotel in Waikiki was offering similar deals. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great the hotel was. The view of the bay was amazing, the room was very clean, and parking was only $12 per day, which is pretty cheap, considering other hotel charge $25. We loved the elevator which is on the outside and you can see a lot of downtown, so we would ride up all the way just for that. I would definitely stay there again!
