I booked this townhouse for a few days while visiting Tahoe with my family (two adults & two kids, ages 3 and 1). We wanted to have a separate space for the kids to sleep so that my husband and I wouldn't have to sit in a hotel bathroom waiting for them to fall asleep... The "two bedroom loft" was huge! The ground floor had two bedrooms and a full bath (sink outside). The master bedroom had a king size bed, dresser, tv and large closet. The other bedroom had two full or queen beds (I'm not sure now) and a medium size closet. Up one flight of stairs was a large dinning room table (seating for 8) a living room with fireplace, small patio, kitchen, and 3/4 bath. The kitchen was stocked with plates, bowls, cups, glasses and some other cooking basics. The third level was the loft with 4 beds (bunk beds - kids LOVED the bunk beds). Since we had 2 small children, I was a bit concerned about having so many stairs. We were able to block them off with some furniture to make due. When we first arrived, I was so VERY excited by the size of the place for the cost we paid. By night, it had fallen from a solid A to a B- at best. It was generally drafty, the king sized bed was terrible and the pillows were just bad (we swapped them out for some from the other rooms until we found a few that would work). Another downfall - the breakfast... I thought I'd read another review that said "It's more than just danishes" While they didn't have danishes, it wasn't much better: cereal, yogurt, a bunch of breads (toast, english muffin, bagel), some hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, apples and coffee. Basically things I could have "made" easily in the townhouse kitchen. Probably more beneficial for people staying at the hotel? They have a shuttle that will bring you to and from near by places (we didn't end up using it). The townhouse / hotel is pretty much located in the heart of the area. Heavenly Ski Resort is one direction, the grocery store and restaurants were in the other. We also walked down to the beach. I would return to this place, but only after looking around again. I would recommend this place to friends, with the understanding that it's not a 4star place, but pretty nice. Especially if you had a large group going.

This is our 2nd visit in the past 6 months. I love this place for the value. Although, they have taken the free continental breakfast, it is still a great buy for the money. We have 2 older kids (15 and 12 and the 1 bedroom loft is perfect for us. The kids have the loft which was outfitted with a queen bed and a bunk bed/ Plenty of space all around. My only complain for the place is the heating and air. There's only one control and the downstairs bedroom was very cold and the loft and living area was too warm. When we finally warmed up the bedroom, it was too toasty everywhere else.

My husband and I were searching for some reasonable places to stay on a trip to Lake Tahoe. Not really familiar with the area and where to stay, we came across a sale for Aston Lakeland Village & Beach Resort. We booked our room after taking the time to research other hotels and resorts along the lake. We will admit that we were a bit hesitant on what we were going to be staying in but once we got there, we really were surprised with the entire property. Many different types of lodging arrangements were available. We stayed at the lodge and were satisfied with our room and what was available to us. The surprise of having the kitchenette in the room was a wonderful benefit. The beach was really nice and appreciated that it was PRIVATE! All facilities were great to use (fitness center, pools, tennis courts, etc). Staff was very helpful and nice. Also, we felt that Aston had a sense of peacefulness, especially at night (away from all the shopping, restaurants, etc). The only negative comment that we have was one evening we did not get housekeeping service until dinner time. Not sure why so late but after returning for the evening, our room was clean and ready. Overall, we really enjoyed the Aston and we will stay there again when we DO return to Lake Tahoe!
