Its ashame that with such a nice accomodating staff, physical setting of the hotel does not keep up. The room was beautiful as well as the beach. The remainder of the facility was very run down and in desperate need of an update. The food was bit to be desired. You could eat all you wanted if you can get the food. I don't know who gave them the definition of top shelf liquor. Don't bother.

Next year will be our 4th time back to Grandpineapple. On our 2nd visit back they welcomed us back with open arms and even remembered our names! The staff is super friendly and accomodating. Were able to just walk right in and be right on vacation the minute we arrive. The new managers we met in 2010 were incredible and sought out our feedback each day. As others have said the rooms are in need of updating and that is in progress. If you are high maintenance and looking for glitz this is not the place for you. If you are looking to relax meet some great people from around the world and enjoy a fabulous beach - we cant reccomend it enough.

Do not believe anything this hotel has to offer, everything is misleading, There is not four restaurants, only two. One is use for three different food choices. All open to cats running around on the tables and birds landing on them also. Only one bar for liquors drinks, which also does the pool side. Very smelly and dirty. Staff and bar very unfriendly and also ther snack bar Pelican grill staff was not nice. Only certain rooms renovated, and the one we stayed at was old and falling apart, sink stopped up, no remote for tv, soap despencer in tube broke which the never replaced or fixed. Lamps coming apart. Very old outdated rooms. Activaties was a joke, very boring, Never saw there disco. I will say the beach was nice and snorkeling was good. I strongly do not recommend this place, save your money for somewhere you want to remember as a nice place.

Do not believe the negative reviews. This was an excellent resort to vacation at. The food was stellar, huge variety to choose from, never the same foods repeated two days in a row. The staff was so friendly and helpful, they even hugged us when we were leaving to go home. They are very appreciative of your business and always assist you with a smile and a positive word. The rooms need a bit of updating, but you are only in the room to sleep and shower. The beach is gorgeous, beautiful white sand, no seaweed and crystal blue water. Make sure you take the walk to Devil's Bridge, it is a free walking tour provided by the resort, they have information at the front desk. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend it to other travelers. Enjoy!
