We second everything positive others have said. The pictures of and words about this hotel almost don't do it justice. Everything was top-notch. We had 100% positive experience with staff: people were extremely friendly, hospitable, and respectful. We particularly appreciated being treated with utmost respect as a gay/lesbian couple. When we requested a room with king bed (instead of the room w/ 2 beds we were assigned), all staff was very helpful. We, in fact, received an upgrade at no extra charge. Later in the week, we received another free upgrade to a different room that was further away from smoking neighbors. (Smoking is allowed on all balconies--the only disadvantage of this hotel if you are a non-smoker).

12/19/2009Hotel including location, room, view, beach access, service was excellent. we didn't use restaurant. it seemed reasonable for hotel prices, but more expensive the restaurants we used in town.

We would definitely stay again. Hotel has great staff and we had a great experience. We did not choose the all-inclusive option and explored several restaurants in the area. The staff was extremely helpful with any questions regarding places to visit or see. Upon arrival, we were incorrectly booked in a room with two double beds. Although another room was not available that night, we were upgraded to an excellent room the rest of our stay.

What a wonderful hotel! If you want a quiet, upscale beach vacation, this is the place for you. Rest, read relax--that's it. We were upgraded to a suite and they didn't even say they were doing it. The staff is friendly and professional. This is the closest nice hotel to downtown and we walked to the Malecon nearly every evening. There are no activities at the hotel to speak of, but we didn't mind that at all. The restaurant at the hotel is lovely for breakfast; we weren't that impressed at dinner, so we just went into town. A lovely place!

As others have said in their review this is a excellent hotel for couples. My wife and I stayed here for 10 days this past June-July for our honeymoon. They upgraded us at no charge to the Master suite upon check-in. This ""room"" had both a Jacuzzi in the large balcony and inside the bathroom. The suite was very spacious. We did not sign up for the all-inclusive but did eat a few meals in the restaurant and ordered guacamole with drinks at the pool. All were very good. The location of the hotel was within easy walking distance to the Melacon (Downtown) with numerous eating places and shops. The spa was very nice (a little over priced) but they were running spa specials so we felt it was worth it. The only negative was they were working on the rock wave breaker on the beach many days and was very noisy. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel for couple who do not want kids all around the hotel and pool.
