While the room was small, it was very sufficient for my needs. It was right downtown, and I was able to walk to all areas I wanted to see: Balboa Park, Seaport Village, Little Italy, and it was just a few blocks from the ferry to Coronado. It was the perfect place to stay for my short getaway to San Diego... I definitely recommend.

Very close to the Gas Lamp district. Convenient to meet our friends for sailing on Saturday. While unloading is a little tight as the street access is limited, the attendants made certain they took care of our luggage and car so we could check in with comfort. The rooms are small but I expected that in this boutique hotel. I would stay here again.

Rooms were very small but nice. Overall the hotel lacked in additional amenities such as bathtubs, bathrobes, breakfast or even coffee. This was disapointing considering the $8.00 resort fee per day. Staff was very nice. Hotel was very clean.

This hotel is located right in the middle of everything. You are in walking distance from most things in the Gaslamp District. The staff was more than accommodating when I needed to upgrade to two double beds instead of one. The room was a little cramped for two beds, but there is plenty to do around that area, so you are hardly in your room.

If you are looking for a nice, clean hotel in downtown SD, the Sofia is a sure bet. If you end up in an economy priced room, know that the rooms are small, but the bed is heavenly and there is a mini fridge as well as a microwave. There is a dock for your Iphone(Ipod) and free bottles of water every day. The towels are lush and the valet guys are on point. There is a coffee shop on the first floor, so you can grab your quick breakfast there as you head out for the day. I definitely recommend the Sofia Hotel.
