I was genuinely disappointed
04/23/2011We showed up for our anniversary, and when we got to our room we were overlooking the greyhound bus station and had to listen to the beeping sound of buses ...
We showed up for our anniversary, and when we got to our room we were overlooking the greyhound bus station and had to listen to the beeping sound of buses backing up all night long and early in the morning. Our trashcans in the room were still full of trash which makes me think that the room wasn't cleaned and the sheets might not have been washed before we got there. To top it off a maintenance guy set off some sort of buzzing alarm at 8:30 in the morning which woke us up, After about three minutes of this alarm going off i went into the hallway and asked the guy what he was doing and he told me that he was told the room was empty and shut the alarm off. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Nice remodel on an old hotel
04/18/2011I thought the hotel was very nice, great service but the rooms were definately smaller than they looked and the bed was very hard.

We had traveled by train from Orange County. The hotel was within short walking distance from the station. The hotel is a historic place that has been given a classy makeover. Our room was on the small side but very comfortable and well appointed. The staff were very helpful , attentive, and had a great attitude. There is a nice restaurant on the first floor but we decided to eat in the Gas Lamp District. There is also a chain coffee house adjacent. Would definately come back for a return visit.
