The Monte Carlo was a mediocre hotel/resort. We booked the high floor upgrade to ensure that we'd get a King size bed, and when we checked in, all they had was two queens. They were able to move us to a King on the second night. The high speed internet that you get for your resort fee is wired, and wireless is not an option. You have to go to Starbucks nearby for wireless. The room is comfortable, although nothing special. It was identical to any number of hotel rooms I've stayed in for work travel, places like Marriott and Hilton Garden. The bathroom is standard hotel accommodations, nothing special. As another reviewer mentioned, if your room is adjoining to another room, you better hope that the neighbors are quiet. One night, our neighbors stayed up talking all night, and as a result, so did we. We could hear everything they had to say. They weren't whispering but they weren't yelling either. The food court is handy if you want to grab a bite to eat and you don't want to spend a lot of time or money. The hotel is near the southern end of the strip, next to NY NY, but is fairly centrally located to many of the other hotels/casinos. There is a very convenient tram that will take you to Crystals and Bellagio. The strip from this end to the other end, near the Wynn, is walkable, but only if you're in good health. Otherwise, take a cab. We walked from one end to the other, using trams when available, without too much problem. But in the evening when we were dressed for dinner and didn't want to sweat on a long walk, we took cabs. The pool area is very nice and comfortable. On the weekends, they have a DJ and it's very much a Spring Break atmosphere. Don't expect to be able to take a nap in your room before 6:00pm, though, because the music is so loud. Also, don't buy a drink from the food court before you go to the pool, because you can't bring outside drinks into the pool area, even if you bought them from the hotel. In general, the hotel is an OK place to stay/sleep (if you have good neighbors), the lobby is very nice and the hotel is generally clean. It seems to cater more to a party crowd, especially on the weekends, so if you're looking for something more laid back or quiet, look elsewhere. Except for that one night, the room was comfortable and quiet. If you're just looking for a place to lay your head at night, the Monte Carlo will do. If you want something a little more pampering, you might want to keep looking.

Stayed in the Monaco Suite and had a great experience. Didn't use the hotel room too much, but the it was perfect for me and my boyfriend. My only complaint was the shower. The non adjustable water pressure and shower head made it impossible for me at least to shower. Pressure so high it hurt and the water hit right at eye level. Not a huge deal for me. The staff was very helpful. The shops and restaurants we're great. The location on the strip is pretty good, but not central. I would stay here again when I go back to Vegas.

Very easy check in process. Staff was very friendly and courteous. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. If you want to get a seat at the pool you should arrive no later than 9:30am. Pool opens at 9. Pool staff was very friendly and servers were Beautiful!! Only complaint about the pool, no outside beverages or food is allowed. You have to by everything within the pool area and it is very expensive! Pool party and DJ were a plus. Food and drinks in Vegas are generally expensive. Would stay here again.
