The Monte C arlo is the best possible value in Vegas. It has the class that we wanted for an amazing price. We were married at Caesar's Palace 10 years ago and would have loved to stay there, but could not afford this time. The MC has the same flavor as a Caesar's, just on a smaller scale and about 1/3 of the price. I really loved our stay here and will return.

After touring around a few other motel casinos in LV, we felt that the Monte Carlo is showing its age. But we really have no complaints about service or comfort! The only negative experience was the prices charged for a dinner. The meal for 2 of us, including one bottle of wine, cost $178. The food was good, but the price was way out of line, we felt. We had prime rib, salads and a veggie. No rice/potatoes or desserts. Breakfast ran about $36 for 2. The best value meals are the buffets, but sometimes one doesnt really feel like eating that much!

A couple of things colored my opinion of the Monte Carlo - their "generous" inclusion of two free meals at their buffet each day wasn't really all that great a deal, since it only applied to breakfast and lunch. Who gets up in time for breakfast in Vegas, anyway?? The food at the buffet was definitely below average - dried out salmon and tough, but bloody steak...I would have been better off with a muffin at Starbuck's. Also, having the housekeeping staff loudly talking and laughing in the hallway outside my room at 8:30 am was very annoying. Hello - people are sleeping here!! (or trying to). The room was fine, but the towels smelled scorched. At least there was good water pressure in the shower! All in all, just an average place to crash in Vegas - I won't go back because there are so many other places to try that might be better.
