The Monte Carlo is a decent hotel, but lacks any unique Vegas personality. Staff is friendly, room is decent, location could be better utilized. We spent a lot of time at neighboring casinos with livelier atmosphere and more enjoyable attractions. Cons include (1) the shower - water pressure is sufficient but the modified shower head forces most the hot water directly down the faucet/drain = weak flow and water waste. (2) NY-NY roller coaster outside window is noisy when window opened.

I got stuck in the elevator for almost an hour. The internet which is included in my daily fee was not working for about 85% of my stay. My remote didn't work and after getting 3 broken replacements I gave up. Housekeeping doesn't bother to provide new towels so we had to track them down each day, and they don't do a very thoughout cleaning job. Basically they make the bed and change the trash bags. The only good thing about this hotel is location. Go with a nearby hotel that might actually take care of you.

The room needs updated. I never like the extra fees to use a work out facility or internet in the hotel. How come Vegas hotels don't have coffee pots in the rooms--at least per request.

The Good News: Friendly staff and the hotel smelled very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The A/C worked great and the toilet flushed super. Bad News: There is NO coffee maker in the rooms. The hotel was so noisy we were woken up several times (both nights) by people next door going in and out slamming doors. Also woken up at 4:30 a.m. when someone was knocking on our door collecting luggage for a bus tour, of which we were NOT a part. You have to hunt for the hairdryer (it's in the armoire, not a full closet because the rooms are small). The bathroom has only one sink and not enough counter space for two travelers. There was only one washcloth and no bath mat for the floor. The rooms need a facelift to make them more modern.

The room was dirty when we arrived. There was a hair on top of the toilet seat, wet towel in the shower and the mirrors were not clean. We expected better for a 4 star hotel. The phone outlet was hanging with the wires exposed.
