We just came back from our trip. We stayed at Paradisus for 3 nights. It was the best all inclusive. The food was great, the staff was amazing and best of all the place is extremely clean and deserves 5 stars. They have several restaurants and a big buffet. The Fuego, Market grill and the Buffet have amazing food. The red lounge had entertainment every night. It was such a relaxing place. We want to go back again.

Been here twice and would go back again. Royal Service isn't really Royal, but its worth the tranquility if that's what you're looking for. No parties and no noise but a wonderful relaxing time. And the beach is wonderful. I didn't leave the hotel. was just enough with gym, restaurants, spa, pool and beach. Just enough for a small Paradise

The common area and restuarant area has long beautiful vines coming from every level with fish ponds at the bottom. A wonderful, warm classy feeling of nature. The life guard asked for our participation in the fabulous experience of helping release over 100 baby turtles into the sea that were part of their save the turtle project. Unforgettable. The service and food were also excellent

There was a bit of a disappointment upon check-in. I arrived late evening on Saturday. I paid for Red Level lagoon view which is tower 5. They put me in tower 4 with no view. When I asked, they said in the morning I would have to talk to the person who is in charge of Red Level services. Sunday morning I spoke to a very nice young lady named, Aide. She took care of everything. At 12:30PM the same day, she called me to say they are moving me to a different room. She upgraded me to a room with a GORGEOUS view of the Caribbean Sea and instead of a free continental breakfast every morning, gave me free buffet breakfasts. The buffet at the Quetzal was great! They had a huge variety of delicious foods. There were a few items that were so-so but other items more than made up for those. The room was very nice. They bed was a bit stiff and not as soft as I would have hoped. I still slept well. The sink and tub drained very slowly. I've been to Mexico many times and this seems to be a common problem. The good news is the toilet worked well. I did see the occasional ant crawling around but by no means was the place infested. During a big rainstorm there was a little water leaking in under the sliding glass door but a bath towel took care of that right away. All in all, this was a great place to stay and the staff was very friendly and courteous at all times. I would definitely stay here again. I recommend purchasing the Red Level package. For those who want to be closer to the action, you may want to stay somewhere closer to the north side of the hotel zone. I was constantly taking the bus to the northern tip of the zone and into downtown Cancun to visit the malls and other restaurants. 3 miles north of the Gran Melia is La Isla Mall. It's very nice. Go to Chocolate City and get a chocolate martini. The bartender made them really well! There is another place called Ah Cacao Chocolate Cafe in the same mall just around the corner. No alcoholic drinks but a good chocolate shake and other chocolate items. If you don't like walking up steps, unless you have a taxi or bus drop you off right at the entrance of the hotel, you will walk up MANY steps to get to the entrance. If you need an honest and kind tour guide while you're in Cancun, I can put you in touch with a very trustworthy person who lives there. I took him just about everywhere I went and he translated for me and made sure I visited the good places and stayed away from the bad places. I consider him a good friend now.
