The hotel was wonderful, the service was fantastic and attending a conference in the same building was convenient. I was pleased with the concierge service, the ammenities such as the jacuzzi pool by the bar and the choice of cuisine. My only issue was with the second hand smoke accross the entire lobby. It is Vegas and that's how it's going to be just about anywhere I guess, but be prepared if that's not something you tolerate well.

I can only say good things about Mandalay Bay. The only negative is the taste of food for room service definitely sub-par. Besides that rooms are comfortable and fairly priced the hotel is beautiful and has any ammenity you might want. I have stayed in many hotels at the Strip and Mandalay Bay is the best option all around, Its as luxurios as other but feels welcoming and is not priced reidiculously high like others.

When I first arrived, I was upgraded from Vista Suite to Media Suite. This isn't really an upgrade, I'll explain. Although the Media Suite is larger, they are on the 20th floor and face the airport and construction. Not a very pretty view. Also, the Vista Suite has 180 degree windows with some in the bedroom. The Media Suite is barely 45 degrees (if that) and none in the bedroom. To make matters worse, the Media Suites are built next to the elevators. I want to meet the genious who thought that up. But hearing the elevators go up and down isn't the worst part. You can actually hear the cables squeal as they sway. ALL THE TIME. It is the most agonizing metallic screaching sound you can imagine. Think fingers across a chauk board. Which probably wouldn't be that bad if there were DVDs to watch in the Media Suite. THAT'S RIGHT. There is NO MEDIA in the Media Suite. On top of that, three of the four TVs in my suite were broken. OH! And there are NO remotes at the Mandalay. Instead, they use "consoles" that are either way too slow when changing channels or don't properly read which buttons you touch on the screen. I asked twice to have the TVs fixed but the "engineers" that show up just say a circuit break was tripped and leave. Of course, the TV never did come back on. Excuses excuses. Basically, the scam is this: ABC knows they can't book the Media Suites because the suites are crap and more expensive per sq ft. So, Mandalay overbooks the more appealing Vista Suites. Then, they claim to upgrade you to a Media Suite just so that they can book the suite no one wants. Pigs and lipstick.
