The good: Casino didn't stink. Great parking valets. Rooms were just average. The hotel is starting to look run down. The bad: The pool area. Not enough staff to handle the spring break. Room maids were not very clean. I'm going to Caesar's Palace the next time I visit Vegas.

Mandalay has the best pools! Great selection of restaurants and convenience for shopping, etc., and the free tram is also great. Excellent room quality for the price, although the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. Overall a great place for the price!

This was our first trip to Las Vegas. We had a great time but the hotel could have had bigger rooms. We had kids with us so it was a little small for a room with 2 beds. No free breakfast and no free internet. Had to go to the Starbucks to access internet. Great hotel accomodations as far as pool etc. but still had a lot of extra's to pay for. Had to pay for rafts for river; cabcana etc. Hoped that would be included for staying there. No breaks there. You can go to another hotel and pay the same to get in. At the far end of the strip so you do a lot of walking. Still we enjoyed it. Kids enjoyed the beach area and wave pool.

Overall, we had a decent time at Mandalay Bay, LV. While we are not really into glitz and gambling, our friends wanted us to take this trip with them. I would advise people NOT to go for New Years as we did, simply because we found it really too cold to enjoy, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. As to the hotel ... it was pretty nice ... very fancy, and very clean. But (and I guess this goes for most hotels these days), one must be VERY CAREFUL about TOUCHING anything on the minibar and in the fridge in the room. I was finally told by staff that if you so much as pick an object up to look at it for more than 40 seconds, it goes on your bill. Of course, they want you to do the expedited checkout, where you won't see these charges until you are back at home. The room's fridge is completely packed, and if you buy your own items (cheaper elsewhere in town), and try to put them in there, you take the chance of getting additional charges, in case you move anything off its sensor. Staff clearly told us (after we investigated), that the refrigerator is NOT for your use, and they can charge you for trying to do so. {OUCH!} FWIW, the hotel did not give me any real problems at checkout, but that's because I started the inquiry into the room charges the day before we left. They had to send someone to the room to audit the stock and verify that nothing was used. So if I had waited until checkout, it would've been too late. Anyway, overall, the experience was OK. We had a decent time. I just think those minibar rules are a real ripoff, and the buyer should be made aware of the "40 second" rule upon check-in.

We went to Las Vegas for the Barrett Jackson auction and stayed at here because it was in the hotel. The hotel is very beautiful. Our room was very nice and clean. We camped out in our room one day and the maid service called to see if we needed anything because we had put the do not disturb sign on the door. The food is excellent but a little on the expensive side. All in all, it was a very nice vacation.
