This was our first trip to Vegas so after reading all the reviews I booked our stay at the Mandalay. Was disappointed with the standard queen bed, the groaning sewer pipes that woke me at 4, 5 and 6 am, the pool / hot tub that closed promptly at 8pm and the fact that there was not even a fridge in the room. Oh yes, there was a fridge in the room, but it was wired so if you took any of the booze out to temporarily store your own goodies, you would be charged, how nice. Next time we will sacrifice the overcrowded wave pool for something a bit nicer. Have heard good things about Venetian and Bellagio.

While I like Mandalay, they have lost my business. They are just getting ridiculous on what they charge. I thought my room rate was pretty good. Then, they charge you a daily "resort fee" of $28, $25 to use the weights in the Spa, an extra charge for the decent chairs at the pool ($25/chair, $25/canopy), and they no longer give free drinks when watching sports in the sports book ($10 a gin/tonic!). This used to be a great place to go, but I will never go again as they just "nickle and dime" you to death..

Hotel has great ammenities. Did have to wait in a fairly long line for registration - but they added more workers, so it went faster. We were able to check in early and get a later check-out. Want a seat by the pool - go early! The pools were wonderful. Good food and drinks. Little bit spendy, but a wonderful place to stay!

Rooms were very nice and loved the view...over looking the pool. Only downfall was it was a little noisy in the hallway, could hear talking and doors closing. The towels had a little burnt smell, not sure what that was about but i always bring my own towel anyway. The bathroom was a cute setup. The Fluer restaurant by Hubert Keller was the best and can't wait to eat there again.

Stayed for a week long business meeting and convention in November 2011. Had a two bedroom suite at the end of the hall. The carpet was dirty, room smelled like cigarette smoke, room service was poor. Would not stay again under any circumstances.
