I booked this hotel to participate in a half marathon taking place in the city center. It was located about 10-15 minutes walk from the race start & expo, and a similar distance (but in the other direction) for the post-race festival. Really well located yet in a quiet enough area so as not to be overwhelming. The room was set up nicely with a flat screen TV, although the rest of the room decor was substantially dated and the air conditioning controls were ancient. Some places in the wallpaper were peeling. It did have great views and each room has a balcony w/ sliding glass door, so if you're willing to live with dated decor the price definitely makes this hotel worth it!

Taken that the hotel is a landmark, the renovations inside was not on par with the other hotels around the area. We drove up to the hotel, which was on the busy Robson St., and could find a place to park to check in. We had to park in the alley and then walk up to the lobby. The lobby is a little outdated, and there was no bellhop. The front desk person was courteous and pleasant. The parking lot and the doorway to the parking lot was very dirty. Our room was surprisingly small. The bed was a double instead of a queen. We knew this but still was surprised that it's that small. The paint on the nightstand was chipped. The bathroom was moderately clean, and we wish the towels were of better quality. We stayed for 2 nights and both nights we were awaken by people screaming on the streets. All in all, not worth the value. It's definitely more like a 2-star hotel.

This hotel is too expensive for the room quality. The lobby was nice but once we got out of the elevator it was very outdated. Our AC didn't work, the carpet was frayed and dirty and the furniture was very '80s. The balcony didn't look safe because of cracked concrete on ours and the one above us. The balcony outlet was very old and the railings were rusted in places.

  • Staff was friendly

There were not a good choice of restaurants close by, mostly asian restaurants. balcony is only large enough to stand on not to sit out and enjoy the view.
