The Whitney Wyndham is an old classic hotel. It has been properly updated, it truly reflects understated elegance. The sheets and mattress were really great. However, I think this is one of the smallest hotel rooms I've ever been in. I stayed there with my best friend,so we were fine. Just know that you should be prepared for really close quarters. The staff was really polite and the place was clean, so no problems there. The location was fine, we walked to a couple nearby restaurants to eat during the course of our stay. The valet parking is $28 per night, but lots of NOLA hotels are like that.

The room was filthy! The bathroom floor looked as though it has not been mopped in months! The bed was so uncomfortable that my husband and I had to sleep on one edge of the bed -- so much for the luxury of a king size bed!!

Needed a place to stay for a night on short notice and received a great deal. For the price, this hotel surpassed all my expectations. Only blocks away from the Superdome, this hotel will now be my first choice if I need a place to stay near the dome.

Hotel was nice, our room was small with weird steps down to the main area. Our friends had gotten a larger room with no steps. The first full day we had a do not disturb sign (had to make our own) up so did not get maid service. That was fine, they left a letter. The next day we left the room about 9:30 am and stopped by the front desk to ask for maid service as soon as possible as we would be back in a couple of hours and wanted to shower. Got back about 12:30, room was not made up. Called down for towels at least. Waited a half an hour and finally went to go down to front desk but I found a maid and just got some towels from her. Found out my husband had gone down to front desk to see what was up and they said that we had refused the towels when they brought them. I was in room whole time waiting for them, no one ever knocked. Don't know if they went to wrong room or what, but sounds like not too good communication between front desk/housekeeping. Our friends had requested towels the day before and she said she got them within 5 minutes. Other than that stay was pretty good, it's in a nice area of town and pretty easy to walk anywhere we wanted to go. Probably would not stay again when there are so many other choices though.

  • Charming character to this building which seems to be an old bank transformed in

The staff was very welcoming and the valet services were faster and easier to get to than other hotels in the area. A 5 minute walk to Bourbon St. and the cable cars on Canal St. The king size bed was a little worn and there were holes in the mattress. Some of the towels were stained and the air conditioner was a little noisy. Free internet and the rooms were fairly clean. Overall a pretty good bargain.
