4 women traveled to this hotel from GA - made Atlanta look great after dark. Store fronts were covered with steel doors. Elevator didn't work - walked five flights of stairs in a narrow wooden stairwell to find that the room keys didn't work either. Ready to go home -until the next morning when everything came alive! Wholesale shopping at it's best! For the $ you can't beat it. Always felt safe despite intial impression at dark.

I got this hotel because of the location and price combination everything else in that area is alot more expensive. I just needed a place to sleep since when in new york I dont really spend much time in my hotel anyways. when I got to my room I was so surprised the beds were very comfortable the room was impecably clean, the staff was wonderful I will be going to new york and I will be staying here again.

This is an old hotel that features large, clean rooms and a pleasant, helpful staff. Don't be put off by the location or outside appearance. Never felt unsafe in neighborhood. Easy access to subway, which we used alot. Just a short cab ride to theaters or downtown. I will stay there again.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a wonderful view of the Empire State Bldg from our window. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was not the best (lots of street vendors during the day) but I did not feel unsafe. The worst part was that neither of the 2 vending machines for drinks worked.

12/08/2006This was our first trip to new york. it was such a great experience. the hotel was excellent.
THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO NEW YORK. IT WAS SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT.
