The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with finding nearby restaurants. The room was spacious and immaculate, had a great view of the empire state building, and was recently renovated. The free breakfast area was small, but there were plenty of bagels/donuts/danishes to take up to your room. Great location, good deal.

We loved the Broadway Plaza Hotel! The beds and pillows were the most comfortable ever! It was within walking distance of several subway stations, macy's was just a few blocks away. Our view out our window was of the Empire State Building...it was great

Picked hotel based on review, central location & subway access. Scary area; lots of young men loitering in groups; not one remotely inviting place to eat; no shopping that looked legal. Filthy streets & sidewalks. Not a safe place to walk in daylight or after dark. Hotel seemed clean. When requested a third water glass each day--they agreed but never brought one up. Elderly concierge was a treasure.

Don't be deceived by the exterior of the hotel and the immediate surroundings. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff is excellent--friendly, polite, helpful. The hotel is not quite in ""the heart of it all"" but close enough.
