Why is it termed resort?

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days because we were told it was next door to Disneyland...it is very close (walking distance), which was great! I still can't understand why it is considered a resort. There was a small pool, a work out room and a World Mark staff person located in the lobby of the hotel, who would try to encourage you to tour their facility in order to buy into their properties. We ended up paying $45.00 (resort fee) at time of check-out. The rooms were clean and plenty of towels available. The staff was courteous. Fairly reasonable gift shop in the lobby! (99cent water!/ $2.00 Disney character autograph books and t-shirts 1/2 the cost than those as Disneyland!) The hotel could stand to be updated...no on-site computer and pretty starchy free breakfast.

We stayed here one night while visiting Disneyland. The location was about 10-15 min walking distance to the park. The rooms were clean and included a good size refrigerator and a microwave. Our cost included 2 free drinks, a warm continental breakfast and free parking all day. I found the free parking one of the best features as the other hotels charge for parking and only until about 1pm. We were pleased with our stay and would stay here again.

This hotel met all of our needs. We loved being within walking distance to Disney. They two bedroom/two bath suite worked well for our family of seven. The rooms are efficient. They are not over the top fancy. The pool area is not overly large but works. Free parking and free breakfast saved us money.

We stayed at the Desert Palms from April 28-May 5 2012. When we checked in, we were immediately upgraded for free to a much larger room that had a full size kitchen. The staff, especially Jessica at the front desk, was just wonderful. The beds were very comfy, and the bathtub was big enough to soak and relax in after a long day at the parks. My only true complaint was the guest laundry. The washers worked perfectly, but the dryer cost us $4 to dry one load. All in all, location, price and amenities were well worth it. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit.
