  The hotel was ok - old but clean. We upgraded to a suite and it had beautiful views of the ocean and boardwalk. The restaurants were great - we ate at PF Changs. Great service. My only complaint is when we arrived its very crazy - before you can even stop your car your car doors are swinging open and people are grabbing your bags and rushing you out of your car - throwing tickets at you and then putting there hand out for a tip! We had one overnight bag - we didn't need anyone helping us - but before we knew it our bags were already en route to the hotel and we were getting attitude from the bellhop because we didn't tip him - we'll know better next time -

  NEVER AGAIN, First upon check in, we as well as many other travellers, were redirected from the west tower desk to the north tower which was difficult to locate, requred considerable amount of walking in circles all with out the help of any of the staff. After waiting in line for quite some time to check in, we are processed, given a cookie (keep in mind for later) for each traveller and directed to our room. Upon entering our room, it is quite apparent that the room has not been cleaned (bed used, garbage full, tub filled with water) so we call the front desk and are assured that housekeeping will be there immediately. After 15 minutes, no housekeeping and we call again, once again the same response. We ask to be switched to another room but are informed that they have on other rooms except smoking (yeck, remember that this is a Sun night). After another 15 minutes goes by, we grab our stuff and head back to the front desk. We discuss the problem with the clerk who repeatedly goes to the back room to consut with manager. And again, no other rooms but smoking and there's nothing other they can do to rectify the situation (maybe the cookie was intended to control the situation). Since it was only a 3 hour ride home, we demanded a refund for the room and parking and headed out. They NEVER once apologized, and at many times, were simply arrogant regarding the entire issue. While we were waiting for the many responses from the "man behind the curtain" manager, the line behind us was growing with a host of unsatisfied "guests" regarding room conditions and availability. Ours was not an isolated incident.

  This hotel is OK. It was very interesting, had a lot to do inside. The IMAX was amazing but the hotel itself is expensive! There was a $10 fee per person PER DAY to use the pool or fitness center... Somehow they trick you into valet parking, and just about everything else you could imagine has fees! The room was comfy, but to be honest I probably will try another hotel next time!

  I was horrified to go into the bathroom early in the morning to shower only to find the ceiling and walls covered in mold. Even the wallpaper was coming off in places with huge spots of mold clearly being the culprit. Guess that would explain the asthma attack I was awakened with late at night. As you walk through the entire hotel and casino the smell of cigar smoke is so strong that it is nauseating. Being in a casino you do expect some of that but this was overwhelming. I did enjoy that it is right on the boardwalk and beach and they do have a very nice shopping area in the hotel. They do also have a very nice choice of restaraunts.

  Always stay at the Tropicana, and usually pleased. Arrived at 6 PM on a Thurs. to see long line and few check-in windows (4) open. Took around 25 minutes. Very friendly and to my surprise was given a suite in the south tower, a nice huge room with 42" flat screen TV. Very nice although could easily hear goings on next door. Surprised however how expensive casino was for a winter weeknight. Blackjack tables started at $10 dollars which was fine, but was raised to 15. When a woman asked pit boss if we can do one more shoe at $10 he said that "upstairs was already mad at him for not raising limits earlier". Every table was high priced. Same thing for next morning. Went to Trump Plaza and had no problems getting more reasonable table limits. I can understand this in summer or weekends, but not Feb. weeknight. Was given $40 food credit for Fiesta Buffet which was closed. (In fact Ive never seen it open)so was told to go to coffee shop, which was Ok. Will stay with Trop because rooms and service are excellent, but will be wary of casino.
