checking in and out was fairly simple and quick, hotel staff were decent...not overly friendly, rooms were about what we expected but none have microwaves, bathtub was dirty upon arrival, was given connecting rooms as requested but one of the two was still occupied after our luggage was unloaded at the door so we waited 30 minutes for the luggage to be moved down two floors to rooms that were ready...then another tip was expected even though it was the hotels mistake, would probably stay again if the price was right but could probably find a better place for the money spent

Have stayed at the Trop numerous times usually with good results. Not this time. Stayed during the big air show week which pumped the prices way up. Was given an "upgraded" room in the Havana tower and after enduring the non english speaking non personality check in clerk, went to the Havana room. What a mess. The carpet was stained and dirty, the tables had an inch of dust on them, the sheets were ripped. There was no soap in the bathroom, not enough towels the ice machine didnt work. Laundry all over the hallways. The cabinet with the TV set was chipped. Parking the car was raised to $35 from the normal 10. Hate to see what the standard West tower rooms were like. Time to look somewhere else.

I am very disappointed with how shabby the Tropicana has become. I am speaking specifically of the hotel. While we were there this past weekend, our carpet remained dirty and no one ever vacuumed. The hallways were littered with trash and beer cans. The housekeeper failed to make up my roommate's bed! We had no soap the second day. There was a picture missing from the wall with exposed nail holes. The caulking on the bathtub was deteriorated and unrepaired. The room service/amenities guidebook that used to be bound in a vinyl book cover had become a few pages stapled together and stained with food. There was no HBO guide. No lotion... no complimentary shower cap... we had to call downstairs for a second set of towels. The ice machine in the hall wasn't making ice. The whole scene at Tropicana looks like it's being taken over by drunk bachelor parties... and no one is bothering to clean up after them. When it was finally time to check out, we waited about a half hour for an elevator! What the heck is going on?!!! I had been a loyal partron of Tropicana for 25 years and appreciate the comps. But no one should have to sacrifice basic services.

I felt like we were at spring break with drunks. The elevators didn't work on our 1st night due to overheating and on our 2nd night due to our wonderful neighbors puking in them which continued in the hallway. Thank heavens for service elevators. The room was filty with stained carpets, drapes, even the inside of the drawers were stained. The tub drained so slowly that you had water over your ankles if you took a 5 minute shower. The sheets had holes in them and the towels were small and thin. The high end restaurant, FIN, was also a disappointment. The food was mediocre at best and the service was poor. It was obvious that they want diners in and out in a hurry. The best part of the weekend was leaving the Trop.
