We checked in at 4:00, hotel check in time was at 3:00. It took the staff a few minutes to do stuff on the computer before they said to each other something to the effect that our room wasn't ready yet. I said that check in is stated at 3:00, it's now 4:00, and that I had made the reservation online. Their answer to me was that they had a lot of new staff and they are really slow. After a few more minutes, they checked around and found us a room that was exactly what we had booked. When we entered the room, it was kinda cold! I know they probably are trying to save on energy/electricity when there aren't any guests in the room but sheesh! We turned the heat on, left for a few hours, and were pleased to find that the room was just right when we got back. I had booked a king room with a handicapped bathroom (I didn't need that extra space however) and the bathroom was quite spacious and clean. The bathroom had a wooden seat that pulled down, presumably for people with limited mobility. The only "issue" with the shower is the removable shower head was set a little low (and I believe it was at its highest permanently. Perhaps it was that way for people who would be taking a shower sitting down, but there should have been some type of height adjustment to make it go higher. I'm 5'10 and for anyone taller than I am might have to bend a bit to wash their hair. The towels were okay, a bit on the "dry and scratchy" side The bed was quite comfortable and I got a good night of sleep. The pillows were a bit smaller that I expected but felt fine. I didn't go in the actual pool room but took a peek through the window and it appeared nice. The workout room was surprisingly nice, it had a few good pieces of equipment as well as a large blue exercise ball! The morning breakfast was decent as well. The gravy for the biscuits was home made in a crockpot but the biscuits themselves were a bit dry. The orange juice came from a machine and had a bit of an artificial taste to it. The Maxwell House coffee was good as well as the tea that they had there. I didn't sample much else at the breakfast but everything else appeared fresh and nice. They even had a do it yourself waffle maker! Overall, my experience at this hotel was nice! The hotel is in the middle of a corn field (I was traveling in February so there was a whole lot of nothingness around then) and it was pretty cold and windy walking to and from my car. Nothing wrong that the hotel did of course

The motel was filthy. Carpet looked like it hadn't been vaccumed in 2 weeks. Found hair in the bed, shower curtain was dirty. The person at the desk asked how the room was when I checked out and I told her. The response was "well it is a motel" Will never stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times this past year. It is clean quiet and conveniently close to the highway. The quothot tubquot is a small public affair but as there have never been any other guests in it when I have been it is more than adequate. The staff is mostly unnoticed and rather kind. I will probably continue to stay here every time I visit the area.
