We stayed at the Winterhaven for 5 nights in July 2009. Overall the hotel was pleasant and our room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was small, especially the shower. It was a small stand alone shower. The continental breakfast was good, bagels, yogurt, waffles and fruit. It was nice that the hotel put water in the lobby to drink. There was a 8 dollar mandatory resort fee;which was worth it;.

This is the perfect hotel to explore all that South Beach has to offer. They provide beach chairs and towels at no extra charge. Breakfast was perfect for a quick bite. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. I will stay here again.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel in mid June. We had a wonderful time and are planning another trip and plan to stay at this hotel. The hotel is right across the street from the beach &;if you have children or can't walk for a long period the distance is perfect&;; they provide beach chairs and towels, menus to all the restaurants that provide delivery service. I chose to go with the cheapest room possible, so I did not have a view and that was fine. I wasn't there to look at the beach from my room. But one of the front desk attendants showed me the room with the ocean view and it was great!! Again, I chose to go on a budget. My room was small, cozy and clean. That's all I needed. And the bed was super comfy with nice, white, clean linen. It was also very quiet, no noise complaints. The decor of the room, hall way and elevator were not eye catching but after the first day I got over it. It would be nice if they updated a bit, but I don't think that is the "look" and "feel" the hotel is going for... Also, I was told ;and read&; that the beach is crowded, but that was not true in my case and that was a good thing for me. Transporation: I did not rent a car for my stay but if you don't mnd walking you don't need a car. You also have the option of renting a scooter or a mini car. There is a rental place close to the hotel. As far as getting back and forth to the airport take the cab not the super shuttle. You will save money.

WHERE'S THE KNOWLEDGE?
06/19/2009Hotel was not as pictured. rooftop was unkept, dirty nothing to entice you to want to go up there. hotel staff was not knowledgeable in recommendations. mini bar is on ...
HOTEL WAS NOT AS PICTURED. ROOFTOP WAS UNKEPT, DIRTY NOTHING TO ENTICE YOU TO WANT TO GO UP THERE. HOTEL STAFF WAS NOT knowledgeable IN RECOMMENDATIONS. MINI BAR IS ON A TRAY UNDER TV WARM...HOUSEKEEPING DID NOT LEAVE EXTRA ROLLS OF TIOLET PAPER SO WE WERE LEFT WITH A FEW SHEETS. WHEN I CALLED DOWN FOR ICE AND TIOLET PAPER, I WAITED AND WAITED...I CALLED AGAIN AFTER A WHILE SOMEONE FINALLY CAME UP WITH THE ICE AND TP. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED DOWN FOR ICE AND I WAS TOLD TO COME DOWN AND GET IT MYSELF. FRONT DESK HAD NO IDEA WHERE I COULD BOOK A MASSAGE.
