I'm surprised there are not more positive reviews for this hotel. Not ordinary in any way. Many large suites are available that feel like spacious apartments. Hotel is laid out like a Mexican market place with the rooms surrounding the open air market on the inside. All of the restaurants within the hotel have excellent food with friendly prompt service even when busy. The rooms are private and in most cases have private stair ways. Our suite had a balcony over looking the market and high windows with a partial beach view which was a nice touch. The hallway and living room had hardwood floors. The only carpet was in the bedroom. We are very glad we found this place, since it rescued us from the typical cookie cutter hotel with a hefty price tag. The only negative was the lack of updating throughout the suite. Countertops, tiles and fixtures were quite dated although they worked fine and were kept very clean. I noticed they were remodeling another suite near our's so it appears they are working on this. Overall, highly recommended.

We've stayed at the El Cordova several times. We go back because we love the spacious rooms and convenience to everything we love about Coronado - the beach, the restaurants and all the little shops. The staff has always been very pleasant. We will stay again.

04/08/2008The staff was friendly and helpful. the location was great. our room was clean and perfect for our needs. i would go back to this hotel as often as posible.

Poor Service in old hotel
12/25/2007No convenient parking. noisy bar outside the rooms.not kid friendly. old small rooms. gave us wrong rm wouldnt accomodate us-my kids slept on the floor in the closet.

Not as exspected
07/21/2007Room was not as pictured on internet, very very dissapointing. dust on furniture, windows, drapes. furniture was cheap, and didn't match the decor. this hotel has so much potential, ...
room was not as pictured on internet, very very dissapointing. Dust on furniture, windows, drapes. Furniture was cheap, and didn't match the decor. This hotel has so much potential, they just don't take advantage of it. They COULD be so much more, but just aren't.
Had piles of dirty towels outside our door for two days, no screens on the windows, which is very nerve wracking when you have a 4 yr.old who wants to look out the window. Mold in the bathroom around the tub and windows, hair floated up and out of the drain when my little one was taking a bath. Carpet was old and stained, though they had tried to clean it, by evidence of the heavily smelling carpet freshner, that was so heavy it gave you nausia. Would definetly spend the extra $25 dollars to stay across the street at the Hotel Del Coronado. Don't waste your money.
