5 night stay, first night, arrived very late and got the last room, but next night got upgraded to an extrememly nice room, spatious, with bath central control console which was neat. I found the staff to be very positive and attentive, the room serevice meals fantastic and the location is very convenient as it is 1 minute away from the MTR. Overall, my highest possible recomendations!

Initially, the hotel appeared very nice, the concierge desk, the decoration, etc. However, at my surprise, the room was disgusting. I had to wear my shoes the entire time because I was afraid of getting a disease from the looks of the floor. I had two tiny beds in the room and had to request the joining of them, not that I am a large person but because I paid for an "adult room" because I am an adult. They barged into my room and simply pushed the beds together, making the pillows fall to the floor. When I asked for new pillows, they acted like that request was insane. I wound up sleeping on one of the beds because they didn't make the two beds into one, using a new King sized sheet to keep me from falling between the beds.... The worst part was that I had to pay per hour for internet. I was upset about this and spoke to the manager, whom essentially put me off as just another "American". I have traveled all over the world and have never been compelled to write such a strong review on a hotel. This is a NO GO! If you want to be treated with decency after a long day of traveling or you are there on a business trip, stay elsewhere!!

  • Ideal 'non-tourist' area choice in a very Chinese city section

Recommended for those who prefer not to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui's tourist sections, or Central's glossy mega-hotels. Cityview provides a clean haven in Yaumatei, Kowloon for the traveler who wants the local Chinese flavor on this side of HK. Superb value, spotless cleanliness. I booked 10 days online for $* USD per night for the deluxe room. I used the inexpensive shuttle bus to/from the airport - the reservations staff will arrange this with a simple email request, it is billed to the room fee. Upon arrival, use the currency exchange across the street from the hotel for good rates. Bed is firm (not hard) and excellent linens - very comfortable sleep. My room faced Waterloo Rd (sunny wake-up) and across from a fairly active Fire/Ambulance station. Concierge was superb, front desk was helpful (though not as excruciatingly polite as all the other staff - 'busy and brisk' is a style seen elsewhere in Kowloon districts). Extremely convenient to shops on Nathan Rd, Ladies St (Tung Choi), electronics shops, the Night Market and Langham Place mall (Argyle St.). I preferred to eat out and did not use any dining or recreation facilties in the hotel. I expect to stay here again.
