Staying on the Gold floor is worth the price. The cocktail snack incluses baby rack of lamb and lobster roll! The breafast buffet is enormous and delicious. The beds are comfy, and the staff is very accomodating and friendly. What more could you ask for?

Pros: Customer Service is extremely welcoming and kind, beautiful Lobby, location. Cons: "Newly Upgraded room" - Towel rack falling off the wall (broken), closet doorknob pulls off (broken), no ventilation in the bathroom, shower soaks the floor, thermostat has "On/Off" switch but doesn't actually turn off, no free internet, uncomfortable bed, no view from room, expensive valet only parking ($46/night).

We stayed at the Fairmont Copley Plaza a couple of years ago and really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. So when there was another occasion to splurge a little in Boston, we went back. Were we disappointed! Our room was on the first floor with a view of air conditioning ducts. The air conditioning in the room blasted directly on to the bed. The closet door would not close. The room was relatively clean, but the bathroom floor needed a good scrubbing. We called down for feather pillows and they were not delivered. On top of all that, they "renovated" the formerly beautiful lounge and dining room and spoiled the old wood-paneled charm. I do not know what happened, but everything that was right in our first visit was wrong in what might be our last visit. It is a shame, because it really was and could again be a wonderful hotel.
