    The Chesterfield Hotel is in a great location. One block to the beach and restaurants and in the other direction one block to delis and pizza and shopping. I booked the run of house at a great price, includes free shuttle and free happy hour, I was nervous that run of house would be a double bed, when we arrived we were given a free upgrade to 2 queen beds and a jacuzzi tub. Room was clean and spacious. Would stay here again. May come back for a longer vacation, as we only stayed one night prior to a cruise. A definate party place.

    The service staff didn't speak English so it was hard to ask them about problems in the room. Good location to clubs, wet willies and fat tuesdays, food in the restaurant was good and they delivered to the room, the lighting in the room was very dim which was a problem if you're looking for something especially in combination with the small size of the room. You could hear people talking in the hallways. The bar in the lobby was cool. The hot tub on the roof wasn't really hot just lukewarm. The manager and front desk staff were helpful and polite. I would recommend it if you're there to party or lay on the beach most of the time. I had lots of fun in the parties they threw in the lobby though.

    I stayed at the Chesterfield about two years and I was really pleased with that experience. Hence, I chose that hotel again for my most recent trip. AND what a terrible decision that was. For starters, I checked into a room with a sub par air conditioning unit on a 100 degree day. After a maintenance visit failed to rectify the issue I was finally moved to another room. This is about an hour after checking into the hot room. Why the hesitation or delay in relocating me I don't know but I didnt appreciate it. Anyways, it all continued downhill. Upon entering my new room I immediately notice that it smelled like a cat! Yes a cat. Smelled like one was living in there at some point in time. Again, I voiced my concerns about the smell and I am finally given the air freshener from my previous room! Yes the air freshener from the previous room that barely diffused the "cat smell" in my new room. I decided to not make such a big fuss about since I didn't plan to spend much time in the room. Ironically enough, I ended up seeing a cat on the premises the following evening while sitting outside the premises. Coincidence? Maybe. Moving on, the following morning (after my first night of sleeping at the Chesterfield) I awoke with an intense itching sensation in my ankle and feet area. So as I stratch I see a multitude of bumps start to appear! Initially, I guessed that they were mosquito bites of some sort. That is until we noticed the two fleas jumping around the sheets later that evening!! I have a total of 52 flea bites. I notified the front desk immediately and was given a new room. Needless to say, we didn't sleep comfortably in this new room as I no longer wanted to be associated with the Chesterfield. Also, I am not sure why we weren't immediately issued a full refund. All in all, you get what you pay for. The Chesterfield is one of those bargain hotels that are great location wise. As far as quality goes-that's out the door. So lesson learned here. If I want a venue that values overall human health, hygiene, and sanitation I might have to spend a little more money. Well my bites are itching now so I must go and apply cortizone asap!!!     Hotel staff was sometimes rude and seemed inconvenienced when I asked for assistance. Free drinks for an hour were watered down. (You get what you pay for) The food was actually pretty good and not expensive (My compliments to the chef) The bartender(s) and one greeter very good eye candy. Besides that you are paying for location, not quality. If you don't have a beach towel, they sell them around the corner by street venders for S5. If the Chesterfield loans you a beach towel it is S15 per towel if you loose them. Most other hotels practicaly give those things away. Most rooms on Southbeach are fairly small but the Chesterfield is a bit smaller than them. You shower inches from the toilet and there is no partition between them, BRING SHOWER SHOES! Most hotels on south beach are similar to the Chesterfield but I got much better service at others. If you desire to stay in a hotel on Southbeach and every other hotel is booked, might as well stay here.

    The staff were pleasant although they did not go out of their way to assist me. But once I got their attention, they were very helpful. As far as the room I stayed in, it was cute although awkward. The bathroom, especially, was strange as the water from the shower spilled over. The bed wasn't very comfortable at all, but at their price, I couldn't really complain.
