When staying here you have to remember that this hotel was built in 1929 but was recently renovated and added modern amenities. Staying here you could almost imagine what it was like years ago with people such as Joe DiMaggio living here when he was in town. I loved our stay here and would stay here again. The room and bathroom were small (but well kept)- but we weren't planning on playing football inside anyway. :-) The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for our things. I would stay here again!!!

I had a paid reservation at this hotel April 2011. When I arrived the reservation was lost. Management was rude and no help at all. I've stayed in the past (mediocre at best) but I wouldn't take a chance again!!

The room was great - 2 bathrooms and 2 closets for 3 women worked out perfectly. Our room had two double beds and double may be a stretch they were small but worked. I would not recommend using the concierge for Broadway tickets. She was rude when we asked about purchasing tickets at the discount ticket stand. We bought tickets for $60 that the concierge tried to sell us for $200. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again.

We traveled to New York from Boston on the train and elected to stay at the New Yorker because it was near the train station. What a great choice. It was centrally located for us to walk to theatre at Times Square and easy subway travel to statue of liberty and all other tourist travel. The hotel has large rooms with good beds and large bathrooms. Everything was spotless and the art deco decor and furnishings was a plus. It is a hotel with a packed lobby at most times which made it difficult to get to speak with the concierge but that would be my only negative comment. We travel quite a bit and would definitely enjoy a return visit.

We stayed in Room 3301 and found the room a little small (especially the bathroom) but clean. The room decor could be updated but was in good working order (as of April 2010). For the price I would recommend. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Views not bad.
