Close to Metro subway stop (across the street) - with quick ride to Smithsonians and National Mall - or easy walk downhill for those so ""inclined"". We also used the red Circulator buses to get around town - great idea for going over to Georgetown without the misery of finding parking - and just $1. Ask the valet for the red Circulator bus map. The hotel room and bathroom were very clean, soft bed, and in-room fridge - simply great hotel for the price. Only negative is that we forgot to get a receipt for our car from the valet attendant - made for an interesting few moments at checkout - no biggie though as the car was safe and sound downstairs in the garage. Also, the valet team could use some training on the locations and routes to select tourist spots throughout the town. OK, most tourists should easily find their way about Washington with the abundance of good/free maps available but, in my opinion, both desk staff and valet staff should have more training in overall town geography/layout, and especially museum, restaurant, cafe, bar, etc locations in order to better serve guests in one of the world's great tourist cities.

We were visiting our grown children and doing some ""tourist"" things. The location was perfect, only a few blocks from the White House and Mall and right across the street from an Orange and Blue line Metro station. The price was terrific and everything else was good

I often stay at the Marriott Courtyard on Connecticut Ave because it's easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the Dupont Circle area. But it's a hike from the nearest Metro Station. The Hilton Garden Inn on 14th St has slightly nicer amenities and it's right across the street from the McPherson Square Metro station. From there you can get anywhere in DC--quickly and cheaply. While both hotels are very attractive for their price, I think I'd put the Hilton above the Marriott because of its location. The staff there are also extremely pleasant and helpful.

Great for a quick get away with teenagers. It was clean and nice despite being in the middle of renovations. The staff was nice and friendly. We liked the fridge and microwave in the room. We liked being able to walk to the mall and to restaurants near Dupont Circle.

Our stay was for the week of Thankgiving and it couldn't have been better! We were treated very well by the entire staff and I can't say enough on how friendly and helpful they were during the entire stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a downtown location for their vacation. We were well within walking distance to all the Smith S. museums and the Washington Mall. It was less than 3 blocks to the front of the Whitehouse!
