    I made the perfect choice with this hotel. It was across the street from a Metro stop that takes you directly to/from Reagan National Airport, or down to the Smithsonian museums. It was within reasonable walking distance to the Washington Monument & memorials and everything on the National Mall, so I only took the Metro back to the hotel once when I was tired from a day of walking everywhere. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous; I arrived earlier than check-in time, but I was able to get a room right away. The weekend I stayed, there was a situation where a construction crane had to be erected right outside the hotel; the hotel manager via the staff communicated to all guests of the situation and had worked with the city to minimize noise and traffic disruption for the hotel guests, for which I was very impressed that he had his guest's best interests in mind. The only cons I had with this hotel was that I had a constant battle with the A/C in my room - I think it was motion controlled - and while the hotel did offer breakfast, it was to the tune of $14.95 which I thought was steep for bacon and eggs. I found a nice corner bakery three blocks away with an awesome selection of food for half the price. (And on the other end of that block was an indoor food court.) If/when I go back to DC I will definitely choose this hotel again.

    We had a comfortable king bed in an attractive room on the 14th floor (top floor) at the end of a hall. There was a minimum of noise outside our room. Valet was very helpful hailing a taxi at 4:30 AM. Convenient location just across street from Metro and walking distance to White House (3 blocks) and mall (1 mile).
