While having some fun places right at your fingertips was nice, Dick's Last Resort Thunder Down Under & Fantasy, in no way does that make up for smelly room dirty bathroom floors and terrible service. I would not stay here again if it was free. It is the little things that count, and that is something Excalibur has forgotten.

Just having completed a two-night buisness stay at Excalibur, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I expected the hotel to be overrun with kids (even though school is in session) but it was not. My room was clean and comfortable with a flat-screen TV and a great view of the Strip. If I were vacationing there I would want to stay in Tower II where the pool is. There are plenty of fast food places in the Food Court (priced similarly to any airport fast food) so you don't have to pay big $$$ to eat if you don't want to. The lunch buffet, though, presented a disappointing selection with a big focus on cold salads. Worst fried shrimp I've ever had. Just big lumps of breading. I couldn't even tell if there was a shrimp hidden inside or not. The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was very nice. I didn't much care for the selection of (too loud) background music that was always playing throughout the property. If I could fix one big thing it would be to erect some kind of canopies over the benches outside of the rear Rotunda where the airport shuttles and tour buses pick up. Even if you can endure the heat while waiting outside, you'll burn your butt sitting on the hot concrete benches there. I'll definitely stay there again the next time I'm in town.

We stayed for 5 nights. The very first night we realized the shower does not work - you have to lean against the wall so some water can reach your skin....Yakkyyy! We complained at the reception area but the elderly lady who was at the front desk professionally explained with the confidence and competency of a plumber that there's not enough pressure reaching 7th floor and that there's simply no hope for us. (Can you imagine what's at 28th floor?!?!) However, she said she's going to send somebody to look at the problem. Nobody ever came. Not even after the 3rd time we explained the unbearable situation. The bathroom was very dirty as well as the carpet in the room - you could clearly see a film of dust closer to the beds. The sheets never got changed, the sink had a little bit of green flora flourishing undisturbed for who knows how long. The safe was initially locked so we couldn't use it. I've never had such a bad experience in Vegas before. I'm never staying in Excalibur again!
