This hotel was dated and the lobby was smokey. The staff was nice, but the solicitors were pushy and stood on almost every corner of the hotel. Overall the room was clean and comfortable and you could not hear the other guests.The location was good. I. loved the architecture

When my friends and I were booking our trip were were looking for the cheapest hotel out of the major hotels on the strip and Excalibur had a good deal. As far as casinos go it's rather gloomy but the interior walk way to Mandalay Bay is rather nice - there is some shopping for a middle class person like myself which I took advantage of. You are obviously located at the edge of the strip and not in the middle where the most beautiful hotels are (Bellagio, Paris, Venitian# so prepare to walk quite a bit. The room was very nice, and the beds very comfy. Considering that I only slept there and took showers it was excellent for my needs... heater/ac worked well and the room service was prompt in cleaning up the room each morning. We rented a car from Avis located downstairs and that was a very easy and pleasant experience. We also enjoyed the low stakes black jack table which you don't find at the more upscale hotels #it was a $5 min table). Overall for the money a great deal and a wonderful overall stay!

The guest service folks were amazing - and the beds/pillows extra comfy

The curtains in my room had holes in them. The carpet looked like it had never been shampooed. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling off. Every time I walked thru the casino someone was trying to stop me to buy something or sign up for something.
