We were not happy with the Hotel selection. We travel to Vegas yearly. This was our 1st stay at Excalibur. The room was not clean. They had dust on the funiture, finger prints on the windows and cig-buds on the window pane. We wanted to move hotels. However, the hotel wanted to charge me for a full day + $90 for cleaning a dirty room. We will not visit Excalibur again..... Also they made the internet and gym required. The internet was not wireless (REALLY) and we did not use the gym.

If you're looking for something cheap but still a little classy, Excalibur is the way to go. Spend the extra money and stay in an upgraded room. Also, request tower 2 the rooms are better. Overall it's a great choice if you're looking for cheap and on the strip near the big hotels.

For a hotel right at the top of the Vegas Strip, the Excalibur is very economically priced. But things have changed since it was the new kid on the block going on 20 years ago. No longer is this the destination of choice for vacationing moms and dads and the whole family. Now it is the dirt-cheap, neglected ugly cousin of the Strip. Like a Chuck E. Cheese in a bad part of town. Non-smoking rooms only mean that you won't be smoking in your room, but you're the only one. Security is practically non-existent. The guests are now primarily rowdy college dudes who spent all the money they saved on a room by drinking all day in the room next to you--with a connecting door! The noise levels here are some of the worst, like keep you up all night-bad. Oh, and I left my bag with the bell desk after check out as I had a lot of time to kill before my flight home, and when I got back, there was a nice new tear in one side. The level of service is about the same as a McDonald's at lunch hour downtown-perfunctory at best. The breakfast buffet is a total rip off because most of the food is gone if you're not there right when it opens, everything has a long, interminable line-and when you get up for something else, the waitstaff has cleared your table and sat somebody else down. Vegas has plenty of opportunities for spontaneity, but don't let booking your hotel be one of them. Plan ahead, save your money for somewhere nice that is worth it, and you will enjoy your stay much more.

We had a nice time at the Excalibur Hotel. I only have a few minor complaints. One being the smoke in the casinos. Its hard to breathe, they need a better ventilation system. The other is that when we checked in, they did not give us the room we had asked for. We made reservations months ahead of time and that annoyed me. Eventually they did find a room that was what we asked for. The door keys did not work and each time we could not get into our room, we had to get Secutiry to let us in. Each time we had to show ID and I had to stay outside of the room while my husband went back down (we were on the 15th floor) to get help so we could go in. Finally they sent a Locksmith to see what was wrong and he found that each time the person at the front desk gave us the wrong keys. We were in room 15442 and they gave us keys for room 5442. Dont they check their records? We were given a free dinner at their Buffet so that was a nice gesture. They also did not have wi-fi in the rooms, only internet hook-up and that didnt work out for us. We had to go to Krispy-Kreme donuts which is located on the 2nd floor to be able to use our tablet for internet access.
