For people on a budget, BUT, surprisingly, this hotel gave us a pleasant stay in Waikiki for 6 nights. The room was small. Comfortable for 2 people. The location of the hotel is perfect ! In the middle of Waikiki and 2 blocks off the beach & a block from the canal on Ala Wai where people can walk/run, away from the busy Waikiki strip. The employees were friendly and were very accomodating. The hotel doesn't have a bar, but conveniently across from the hotel is another hotel who has a full bar. The hotel has a so called gym with 3 machines located at the lobby by the pool in an open area. It's a small hotel conveniently located at the middle of Waikiki. The International Market is a few blocks away which has boutiques and a food court. They offer free shows every night. It was something nice to do to unwind at night. For the money, this was worth the stay. It was a pleasant stay. I would recommend it for people on a budget. It's a clean hotel.

The most disappointing hotel I've ever stayed in, but not the worst. For the price, nowhere near worth it. They list themselves as having a gym and a pool. There is no gym, there are 3 machines situated by the front desk, none of which I would normally use. The pool was truly the smallest I've ever seen, what 8 feet wide?, 3 would be a crowd so I passed. I got a room on the second floor, I said "will it be very loud?", the front desk person, Kevin, said "Yeah, but you could purchase a massage and get a free upgrade"... He smiled while he said this, that really bothered me. The shower ran hot and cold, would never stay the same, hairs on the shower walls, long and black, not mine. I bought a massage later on that day, so I could switch because a.the shower was horrible b.the room was extremely small, I felt like I was in a storage closet and b. the room WAS really loud, on the corner of the intersection. It wouldn't have bothered me so much if the front desk guy had been a little bit more pleasant, it's as if he knew he was giving me a lousy room (with a smile!). Of course I've stayed in cheap motels, but I knew what to expect and paid much less for my room. This was my fourth Aqua brand hotel I'd stayed in while here in Oahu in the past two months and this was by the far the least friendly and most shoddy. In both rooms, you could tell it had been renovated over a basically old building and was not done well (loose tiles, leaking faucets, etc.). Like I said, not the worst hotel I've ever been in, but nowhere worth it's sample rates.

Small room but did have a balcony. Small tv. Curtins need to be replaced. The lights at night would come through the drapes. A/C not that good. BBQ grill by the pool was nice to have. Also, front desk had boggie boards that you could borrow while staying there. Should have a computer to use in the front lobby. Need to have some dishes to be able to use since there is a microwave and fridge in the room.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days as part of our honeymoon. We knew that we would be out and about more often than staying in so we chose a relatively less expensive hotel, and for the price this was not a bad deal. GREAT location, as next to it is the Ala Wai Blvd park with a great view of the water and mountain. I see people rent kayaks there, in the evenings this would be a good place to just relax. On the other side of the hotel is Kuhio Ave which is a major shopping/restaurants area as well as has some of the farmer markets and outside shopping vendors. At night this area is very much alive with people and music. The bus to most of the tourist attractions runs frequently along this route. The hotel is pretty good. The lobby is open air decorated with island decor, typically of hawaii hotels. The staff was friendly. Free cold water in the lobby, complimentary beach towels that you can carry to the beach, just need to return at the end of the day or you will be charged (or if you lose the beach towel cards, its a $20 charge). Theres a hotel pool but its not anything to brag about bc its small and apartments builidings overlook the pool. Warning: The standard room is very very small, you get out of the bed and literally you will run into the wall. Their 'queen' bed feels like a full. And the sheets feel rough. The bathroom is super tiny, no counter space (so ladies, no place for makeup, flat irons, lotions and creams etc), small shower with horrible water pressure, and a door to the toilet/shower that slides to open. Its not good for people who are clusterphobic or if you have multiple luggages. After one night, the thought of spending another 4 nights in this standard room was unbearable. The lady said it would be $20/night to upgrade to a delux --which is the next step up. Luckily they have a 'buy an early massage/spa session, get a free room upgrade" deal, so we got that. It was the best decision. the shiatzu/reflexology combo massage was excellent!!! The delux room has an average amount of space, a counter space, slightly bigger shower with better water pressure, a couch, microwave, fridge, softer sheets and most importantly a good size balcony. Still the sliding door, but oh well...Definitely worth the upgrade!!! I wonder if they make the standard room so bad that you have to get the delux and somehow feel good for paying more when you should be feeling angry that they cheated you of the basics of a hotel. I've stayed in hostel thats better than their standard rooms. The hotel is not near the airport so you will need transportation to and from hotel, a problem you will encounter if you stay at any other hotels anyways except those near the airport. several car rental agencys are around the block. there is a fee to park at the hotel however (but theres quite a few meter parking spaces right outside the hotel if you're lucky). It is also not near the beach (the claimed 2 blocks is at least 15-20 minutes of walking - which isnt necessarily a bad thing if you plan to shop and eat and enjoy the walk, etc...) Overall, for the price, to get a good place to sleep after a long eventful day, and still be close to the beach and city -- its great. It helps to save you money if you plan to stay multiple nights. If you plan to stay for a weekend or sth, perhaps its better to go closer to the beach and at a more modern hotel.

It was an OK hotel. It pretty much looks like the photo, except a little more run down in real life. We were on the 4th floor and it was really noisy at night. I'd ask for a higher floor if I stayed again. The A/C unit is a wall mounted one, and we found it did not fully cool the room. The best parts were the bed was comfortable, the view from our room was nice, and we enjoyed the location. Continental breakfast was available for 6.00 a person. $20 a night to park in garage.
